Each book in this series is based around a popular cross-curricular primary topic. Each topic focuses quite specifically on two or three subject areas following the guidance given in the units of work in the QCA Schemes. The activities can be used in their entirety to provide a half-term's topic or as a dip-in resource to support the QCA schemes. The books include: planning support; activity ideas; photocopiables; display ideas; support for differentiation; suggestions for resources AROUND OUR SCHOOL provides lesson ideas which specifically link to the QCA topics of: Art and design: Can buildings speak?; RE: What can we learn from visiting a church/place of worship?; Geography: Around our school - the local area The book shows how these three curriculum subjects can be taught in a discrete yet cohesive way enabling efficient time management of the curriculum.
