An anti-smoking story with plenty of humour and a feisty heroine! Gwenno's father used to go for walks with Gwenno and her friend, and play football with them. But now all he does is sit in front of the TV and smoke, or work in his shed - and smoke! Gwenno is really fed up. He can't play football now without getting out of breath and he can't go for a walk because he coughs all the time. Gwenno is going to have to do something, but what can she do to persuade Dad that he really must give up smoking? Research at the local library provides part of the answer and shocks her parents, but Gwenno is sure that her father is still smoking on the sly while he works in his shed. In the end it takes a major disaster and the loss of several months careful carpentry work to make Gwenno's dad really decide to give up smoking. For fledgeling readers who will enjoy a story that is divided into short, snappy chapters.
