Phonic Books Mel on Mars Activities are older reader books which introduce children to a few letters and sounds at a time. This activity book accompanies Mel on Mars and is aimed at older children in the very early stages of reading in need of support, teaching different letter patterns through a series of activities.
Dedicated books in each stage break down phonics practice while offering different stories, encouraging independent reading from the start for ages 9-12 or KS2/Years 5 and 6. It starts at at CVC level and introduces adjacent consonants and consonant digraphs, with gentle progression throughout the set.
