A single-volume reference book for children aged 8-12, covering the whole of human history from earliest times to the beginning of the new millennium. The book is organized chronologically, in five sections and within sections each double-page spread focuses on one topic. Feature boxes and maps accompany the text, illustrations, and captions. Each section concludes with a "Who's Who" and a "Timeline", and a survey of developments around the world which allows for comparisons between regions, at a glance.
