"Nous les Francais" is a two-part French course for sixth-formers with the emphasis on a communicative approach to language learning. Part 1 aims to bridge the gap between GCSE and "A" level work and is suitable for non-"A" level candidates. This teacher's book contains useful background information and photocopiable transcripts of recorded material, plus comprehension exercises. A wide variety of material showing the French attitude to topics ranging from health to information technology is included, encouraging students to form and express opinions, both orally and in writing. Communicative tasks such as discussion, information gathering, organized argument, reporting and role-play are encouraged throughout. A grammar section with exercises and listening material made on location in France are included. Both the teacher's and the students' textbooks are accompanied by cassettes and tapes.
