Hello, friendly readers, I’m very excited to be writing for the guest spot on the Toppsta blog today, talking all about my latest book.
Let’s make one thing perfectly clear before we get going... I LOVE MY JOB! I really, really do. Ever since I was a little boy I’ve always enjoyed telling tales, and now I get to do it for a living and see my stories beautifully illustrated and bound in brightly coloured covers on bookshelves, EVEN BETTER!
Now, let’s make a second thing perfectly clear… I LOVE DOGS! I really, really love dogs. Whether they are big or small or snuffly or hairy or scratchy or drooly or yappy or farty or lazy or CRAZY, I think dogs are the best animal on the planet. So, when the very nice people at Penguin Random House asked me to write the diary of a dog named Junior, using characters from James Patterson’s excellent Middle School series, I leapt at the chance.
Today, I’m talking about the latest in the series, Dog Diaries: Mission Impawsible. It’s filled with action and peril and hopefully will make you giggle from the top of your head to the tip of your tail (if you have one).
Junior is going on holiday (or should that be HOWLIDAY) to sunny HOLLYWOOD. He’s packed his favourite treats and has plans to become a star of stage and screen while he’s there. Yep, he’s got it all worked out… until… things don’t go quite as planned and Junior’s pooch-pack find themselves in a race against time to escape the horrors of… Ha! I’m not going to tell you! It would ruin the story! You’ll just have to read Dog Diaries: Mission Impawsible and find out for yourself.
I had lots of fun writing the new book. If you like holidays, pooch-prison, detective TV shows, streets paved with sausage-meat, great escape plans, mutt-megastars, bottom biting and terrifying dog-eating vegetables THIS BOOK IS DEFINITELY FOR YOU!
