Tiny T. Rex and the Very Dark Dark

Tiny T. Rex and his friend Pointy are having a campout in the backyard! It is what best friends do. But without their nighty-lights, the dark outside suddenly seems VERY dark . . . and very full of spooky things. Good thing Tiny has a super-secret plan to keep the dark at bay! Full of warmth and plenty of laughs, this new adventure starring Tiny T. Rex shows that friends will always find a way to face their fears together-even when those fears are not what they seem!

Questions from Reception Class / Answers from Jonathan Stutzman

1. Did they have another camp out?

Absolutely! Once Tiny and Pointy overcame their fears they realized how fun camping out was and had many many more! Maybe YOU could draw some art or write a story about what you think their next campout adventures might be!

2. What are the grumbles?

Grumbles (like Nom-bies, and Creepy-crawlies) are spooky monsters Tiny and Pointy thought were in the dark, but they were not actually real. Sometimes when we are scared, our imaginations can think up things that aren't really there. This is what Tiny and Pointy did in their imaginations. They made up things like Grumble-monsters to explain the sounds they heard in the dark... but really the grumble sounds were just Tiny's dad snoring! Do you know anyone who snores really loud and grumbly?

3. Whose idea was it to have a camp out?

It was Tiny's idea! He invited Pointy over for the sleepover at his house.

4. Will there be another TINY T.REX book?

There are three more coming out! And maybe more after that.

5. Did they eat all of their snacks?

Oh yes! They had a lot of snacks but they definitely ate them all (Pointy is very good at eating snacks)!  If you had a campout or sleepover, which favorite snack would you pick?

6. How old are tiny and pointy?

They are both 7, but turning 8 soon!

7. Did they see any shooting stars?

They did! And they both made a secret wish.

8. Are Pointy and Tiny T. Rex brothers?

Tiny T. Rex and Pointy aren't brothers, but they are best friends! Tiny does have a big brother and big sister though. His sister's name is Trixie and his brother's name is Rawrie. You can spot them in this book watching TV. And in the first book, Tiny T. Rex and the Impossible Hug, they help Tiny learn how to play ping-pong and team him how to "practice practice practice".

9. Was it Bob on the flag?

Good eye! It WAS Bob on the flag! If you had a flag for a special fort, what would you have on it? What colour would it be?

10. Did they watch the stars all night or have a good sleep?!

They watched the stars, they talked and told stories, they made plans on how to improve their special fort, and then when they were very very tired... they had a very very good sleep.

Thank you Reception Class AND Jonathan Stutzman!
