Here at Toppsta Towers we can’t quite believe Elmer is 30 already! We grew up with this much-loved patchwork elephant and now our own children are enjoying David McKee’s fabulous creation. Deservedly a modern classic, with over ten million copies of his books sold worldwide, Elmer’s subtle message, that it is OK to be different, resonates with children across the world.
To celebrate Elmer’s 30th birthday, author and illustrator David McKee has created a brand-new Elmer story, which we think is just beautiful. In this new picture book the elephants decide it’s their turn to play a trick on Elmer: all of the animals must pretend to forget his birthday tomorrow! But when the day comes the trick doesn’t quite go according to plan. The elephants should have listened to Elmer’s friends!
