Mrs Vickers Knickers
Author: Kara Lebihan Illustrator: Deborah Allwright
Who doesn't enjoy a story about knickers? Well my Reception class certainly do. There was raucous laughter throughout as we saw Mrs. Vickers knickers fly off around the town. Lovely illustration with bright pink knickers, had the children captivated from start to finish.

Itchy, Scritchy, Scratchy Pants
Author: Steve Smallman Illustrator: Elina Ellis
Oh how the children laughed at this book. I read it to my new Reception class in the first week of school. It brought a smile to every face. We particularly loved the references to knickers and underpants(never fails to raise a laugh). The story and characters were fun and interesting as were the fantastic illustrations.Loved the fact that there was rhyme, the children like to anticipate a rhyming word.
A real feel good book which I know will be read over and over.

Peace at Last
Author: Jill Murphy
The children at school just love this book and can identify with the mother needing peace. It is a book that the children like to join in with and find the story very memorable. The illustrations are lovely. A great fun ending too, the children love the humour in this .

We're Going On A Bear Hunt + Cd
Author: Michael Rosen Illustrator: Helen Oxenbury
A book that has been loved by both adults and children for many years. Children love the alliteration and actions. The anticipation of going on the hunt is always fun...even when you know the result. The illustrations are wonderful. A real little adventure book.
