Princess Mirror-Belle and Snow White
Author: Julia Donaldson Illustrator: Lydia Monks
I read this story to my 5 year old daughter. She has read previous princess mirror belle stories and loves them and this was no different.
Princess mirror belle comes out of the Magic mirror and causes mayhem at Ellen's brother Lukes, play of Snow White.
While exploring the theatre Ellen accidentally lets princess mirror belle out of the mirror and during the performance she becomes the 8th dwarf in snow white.
My daughter found the story engaging and a funny twist on the traditional Snow White story.
The comic caper of a panto was brought to life during the story too.
Julia Donaldson at her best.

Peppa Pig: Peppa Loves World Book Day! World Book Day 2017
I read this story to my 5 year old, however she could have read it to me.
A lovely simple story capturing the spirit of dress up for world book day.
My daughter loved how peppa was lots of characters in her favourite books and how she didn't just pick one story character to be.
She enjoyed the story but I felt this probably was more suited to younger children or peppa pig fans.

Santa Claude
Author: Alex T Smith
This is a beautifully illustrated book and the story equally engaging and enjoyable.
We won this book as part of a giveaway and had never read any of the Claude books before.
It begins with Claude being left alone on Christmas eve about to read a book and going through some of the people he helped that day. The names of the characters made me laugh a lot reading it to my children which to me is good in any children's book.
Then in a moment it hilarity some how Claude handcuffs Santa to a chair and can't find the key!
Cue Claude and sir bobbleysock to the rescue!
Loved it and so did my little girl who also enjoyed reading sections of the book.
We'll definitely look for more Claude books in the future!

We're Going on a Bear Hunt
Author: Michael Rosen Illustrator: Helen Oxenbury
I  borrowed  this book  from our local library  and  my  eldest  picked it up quite  quickly  and  began  reading it.  Lots of repetition  in the story  gave her  good practise in reading the story. With  lots of words that could be easily blended and segmented  to describe them going through the water, grass,  mud etc.  This is a story which never grows old  for anyone reading or listening to it.  your imagination  goes into over drive  imaging  what the people in the story are doing and feeling.  Excellent

Oi Frog! Board Book
Author: Kes Gray Illustrator: Jim Field
This is such a funny  book both my little girl  and I enjoyed reading  it  as I found it funny too.  The rhyming  used within the book  is great  for the  fundamentals of  beginning to read.  Towards the middle of the  book my little girl was joining in  with  the words which was great fun.
