Each Peach Pear Plum
I read it to Matildac aged 5
This is a good little book that encourages children to learn and read along. It encourages counting and learning colours and different fruit and veg. We thoroughly enjoyed reading this book together.

Guess How Much I Love You
I read it to Matildac aged 5
i absolutely love this book.  I had never read it as a child and now i feel like i missed out.  It is such a loving book - big nutkin brown is having a discussion with little nutkin brown about who loves who the most.  Very true to reality and the types of conversations children will have with their elders - weather that is a carer, sibling or parent.  It is never disclosed as to whether big nutkin brown is a mummy, daddy, brother, sister or whatever.....simply an elder so all children can relate to this in some way.  I personally have this type of discussion with my daughter quite regularly and it really warms my heart when i read it as it envokes a feeling of love and warmth, thinking of this type of love.  a really wonderful book.

Kitchen Disco
I read it to Matildac aged 5
this is a great book with lots of colours.  the story is written in rhyme and therefor the child can almost guess the words so great for learning to read. As there are lots of fruits and veg illustrated and discussed in the book, it was also really good for having a discussion about the types of fruit, their colours and what they were doing.  Matilda found it really amusing that fruit get up and dance - we had a 15 minute discussion as to whether our fruit at home gets up in the night and has a disco, and if it does, why does jasper (our dog) not bark! I love that this book is non gender specific for a change and is completely evokative of a childs imagination and something out of the norm - not fairy, unicorn, nursery rhyme related in the slightest.  wonderful.
