Book pages Snorkelling with Nana
Snorkelling with Nana
AvaW read it aged 5
My daughter had this book from school as her reading book. She could read it independently, only needing help with a couple of big words. She enjoyed the story and looking at the illustrations, and liked it was about snorkelling with a nan.

Book pages The Magic Backpack
The Magic Backpack
AvaW read it aged 5
My daughter was given this as her reading book from school. It was very long, over 40 pages. There were some difficult words on there, but she's at the stage where she can break down hard words, so she managed reading it fine, only needing help with a couple of words. So think for this book, they need to be a confident reader. She enjoyed the story, the adventure  and magic of it, and liked looking at the illustrations.

Book pages Doctor Who: The Secret in Vault 13
Doctor Who: The Secret in Vault 13
MicahW read it aged 9
I haven't watched doctor who before, so didn't know whether I would enjoy the book. There were a few things throughout the book that I didn't know what it was, as I haven't seen dr who or read any other books. So in that case it meant the experience of reading the book, wasn't as good as it could have been if I knew more about doctor who. But I still enjoyed the book, due to the subject matter . Some illustrations would have probably made a difference to me in this instance, as I may have been able to see what some of the things they were talking about in the book were, such as robots and baddies.

Book pages Horrible Histories: Savage Stone Age
Horrible Histories: Savage Stone Age
MicahW read it aged 9
I have read a few books from the horrible histories series before, and really enjoyed them, so I knew I would enjoy this one too. It was all about the stone age. I loved that the book was full of interesting facts, and there was a quiz at the end about the stuff we had read about in the book, that was fun. Great for anyone that enjoys information books  and doesn't mind a bit of gore

Scaredy Cats: Foggy Moggy Inn
AvaW read it aged 5
Ava was given this as her reading book from school. It was quite long, with lots of hard words, so for confident readers. My daughter wasn't particularly enjoying the story, and she got bored of it with it being quite a long story. There were black and white illustrations throughout the book, but they didn't really add much to the book. As the title suggests, scaredy cat, it was a bit of a dark story.

Book pages Mouse Visor
Mouse Visor
AvaW read it aged 5
My daughter had this book from school for her reading book. Its a book on how to make a mouse visor. Take a you through it step by step, what you need, what to do. My daughter could read it no problem, but think she found it a bit boring as she was just reading it, and not making the mouse visor.
