Book pages Draw it! Colour it! Creatures: With over 40 top artists
Draw it! Colour it! Creatures: With over 40 top artists
I read it to MicahW aged 6
My son and I absolutely loved this colouring/drawing book. The best one we have ever come across. Really great for the older children. We loved the brilliant idea of having drawings from great artists that they can colour in and draw on such as Alex Scheffler.  It really did inspire creativity and got them using their imagination. My son who is 6 really enjoyed the colouring in, more so than usual as the pictures were amazing and he loved getting to draw his own stuff. I liked how how they mixed it up, and the drawing ideas were different, if might have been a black page and it would say what to draw, or it might be half a picture and they had to do the mirror image. I even had a go at one, as I thought it was such a cool book. We couldn't rate it more highly, thoroughly enjoyable, great for boys and girls.

Book pages Pants
Pants
I read it to AvaW aged 2
This is a bright, bold book that celebrates pants of all kinds. It's a rhyming text, which is very enjoyable. It's funny, mischievous and silly. My daughter loves it, especially because she wears pants now. It's easy to read, flows well and at the end of the book where they have all the pants from the book, my daughter loves to choose which pants she would wear.

Book pages The Best of Dr. Seuss: The Cat in the Hat, the Cat in the Hat Comes Back, Dr. Seuss's ABC
The Best of Dr. Seuss: The Cat in the Hat, the Cat in the Hat Comes Back, Dr. Seuss's ABC
MicahW read it aged 6
This book has 3 books in 1. There is 'The cat in the hat', 'The cat in the hat comes back' and 'Dr. Seuss' ABC'. I had read the Cat in the hat before and seen the film and really enjoyed them, so other stories by Dr. Seuss I knew I would enjoy. The stories are silly and funny, and I like the rhymes. The pictures are silly and mad but I like the pictures, they are bright and full of action. I had no trouble reading this on my own, there were no hard words, it's easy to follow and the text is a decent size. There are no page numbers, so make sure you have an bookmark to keep the page where you stop. I found it difficult to stop reading it as I wanted to keep going to see what would happen

Book pages Busy Park
Busy Park
I read it to AvaW aged 2
This is a board book about what things you can see and do at the park. It's a great interactive book, with sturdy, thick pages. There are tabs made for little ones that they push, pull and turn to make things on the page happen, such as making animals appear in the tree, the see-saw go up and down and the fish go round in the pond. My daughter loves this book and will read it again and again as she loves getting involved. Its not very long,so great for little ones, colourful and entertaining.

Book pages Horrid Henry and the Zombie Vampire: Book 20
Horrid Henry and the Zombie Vampire: Book 20
MicahW read it aged 6
I have read a few of the horrid Henry stories, and I really enjoy them. I really like this book as it has 4 stories, and they are all really funny. They aren't too long, the text is a good size, which I like and they are easy to read. I read the whole book on my own no problem. The stories are silly as usual. The zombie vampire story isn't scary. There are black and white illustrations throughout the book.

Book pages The Midnight Visitors
The Midnight Visitors
I read it to MicahW aged 6 & to AvaW aged 2
I thought this was a lovely christmas book. I normally do the children a christmas eve box with new pjs, a christmas film, some little treats and a christmas book. This will be our christmas book this year. My 2 year old and 6year old enjoyed it. Miriam the cow and the other animals were settling down in the barn ready for bed, when they had some special visitors, and a baby is born in the barn. The illustrations were lovely, colourful and detailed, my youngest liked looking at the pictures and telling me what was going on. I loved that the story of Mary and Joseph was told from the cow Miriam's perspective, this is very original and a great idea. Its obviously a religious christmas story, but its not like the classic bible story, this was much more child friendly, interesting and entertaining, as some bible stories can be quite boring for young children. A cute and touching story, would definitely recommend. Doesn't just need to be read at christmas, but definitely one of my favourite children christmas books ive come across in a while

Book pages A Little Owl Called Hooty
A Little Owl Called Hooty
I read it to MicahW aged 6 & to AvaW aged 2
This is such a sweet book about an owl called Hooty who is afraid to fly. His animals friends get together to try and get him help to fly. Lovely story for little ones, but also for older ones. My 6year old read it himself, and we could talk about things in the book, such as friendship and courage. The illustrations are beautiful, and it's a rhyming book., which makes it more fun. The board book is great for little hands and the story is easy to follow. Would definitely recommend

Book pages Buster's Zoo
Buster's Zoo
I read it to AvaW aged 2
This book is ideal for young children. Buster visits the zoo and we see a variety of different animals. It's a lovely interactive book; there are flaps to lift and different textures to touch. The pictures are bright and entertaining. Not too long and not many words, but that's great for younger ones. Like the other  Rod Campbell books, they are a hit with my little one, and once she's finished reading it she will want to read it over again

Book pages Dear Father Christmas
Dear Father Christmas
I read it to MicahW aged 6 & to AvaW aged 2
This is one of our favourite Christmas books as a family. Its more suited for older children though, as my 2year old got a bit bored after a while as its not a short story. A little girl Holly sees a man that looks like father Christmas, so she decides to write him a letter. They become pen pals and form a lovely friendship, and she is actually writing to the real father Christmas, and Holly learns lots of stuff about the elves, reindeer, magic and Lapland, and ends up meeting him. We love the added extras at the back; there are letters to Father Christmas and a special silver ticket from Father Christmas. Its such an enchanting, charming book, with beautiful pictures to go along with a lovely story. Its quite a small book though, so the letters in the back are very small.

Book pages Convertible Tractor
Convertible Tractor
I read it to AvaW aged 2
This book is a real hit. Thought it was such a cool, fun book. As a book you have a farmyard, animal story, with bright illustrations. The book can then transform; firstly into a play mat. We used cars on it, and we have a little farm set, so we put our animals and farmers on it. It was fun and my daughter was using her imagination. The 2nd transformation is into a tractor, where your child can sit in it. My daughter loved this bit, and was In it for ages, pretending to drive around, and we were discussing where she would drive in it and what she might see. It's really easy to set up as a tractor, and has Velcro straps that keep the book in place. Think this will be one of my daughters favourite books for a long time. They do other books, can get a fire engine, train and spaceship one.

Book pages The Bear Who Went Boo!
The Bear Who Went Boo!
I read it to AvaW aged 2
This is a lovely picture book about a little bear who loves to say boo, but doesn't always know when to stop. It is funny and mischievous, with the pictures helping to being the words to life. We love the polar bears character; he is cheeky but adorable . My 2 year old really enjoys this story, and loves shouting Boo along with the bear.

Book pages Busy Little Dinosaurs: A Back-and-Forth Alphabet Book
Busy Little Dinosaurs: A Back-and-Forth Alphabet Book
I read it to AvaW aged 2
A lovely touch and feel alphabet book about dinosaurs and the fun they have at school. It is a rhyming text, with bright colourful pages and illustrations. There are different textures on the page for the little ones to feel. There are cut outs in the pages, and when you have read the book, it tells you to go back to the start and peek through the holes and name the letter the words start with. Its a great book for all ages, younger ones can enjoy the story and older ones can name the letters of the words.

Book pages Whizzy Science: Make it Splash!
Whizzy Science: Make it Splash!
MicahW read it aged 6
This is a fun book exploring the science of liquids. This is a topic I'm doing at school, so I could use some of the information I learned at school. I really liked this book, because as well as the interesting information, it also has experiments you can do at home. I read the book on my own, but did the experiments with the help of my parents. The experiments were things you could do at home without having to buy anything, so that was good, and they were fun. I liked the bright colours of the pages and the colourful illustrations. I liked at the back it gave you websites to look on for more information an experiments. There are also other books in the whizzy science series.

Book pages Patch's Grand Dog Show
Patch's Grand Dog Show
I read it to AvaW aged 2
This is a very sweet book, about Patch the dog whose only friend is his ball. He goes to a grand dog show, where he ends up overcoming his fears. Such a lovely story of courage, we liked that Patch was very determined. We loved that all the dogs in the book are knitted dogs. My daughter loved looking at the lovely pictures, and I thought it was great that it tells you at the back of the book how you can knit your own Patch dog. An easy read and a nice, positive story.

Book pages Are You My Mummy?
Are You My Mummy?
AvaW read it aged 2
This is a nice touch & feel book. A little tiger cub is looking for it's mommy, but none of the animals are it's mom. Lovely illustrations, animals are introduced in this book, as the cub comes across different animals whilst looking for it's mom. Each animals says why they aren't the tiger cubs mom. Like the zebra says I have hooves not paws. You child can touch the tigers belly which is furry and soft to feel. At the end the cub finds his mom,so there is a happy ending.

Book pages Peppa Pig: Play With Peppa!
Peppa Pig: Play With Peppa!
I read it to AvaW aged 2
Any peppa pig fan will love this puppet book. This is a great interactive book that brings Peppa to life. Wherever Peppa goes she can't sit still, and the puppet can clap, sneeze etc as Peppa does in the book. The puppet you put your hand in,fits for big hands and little hands, so the little ones can have a go too. The text is simple, as the puppet is the main focus, pages are bright and colourful. My daughter loves to re tell the story and play the part of Peppa after I have read it to her.
