Book pages The Superpower Project
The Superpower Project
MicahW read it aged 7
I love anything superhero, so this sounded right up my street, and I wasn't wrong. It was a great book, full of adventure, one you don't want to put down. There is a lot of reading to do, it over 200 pages, and with the odd black and white illustration, but it is easy to read. It is a funny book and I liked that it had robots in it, and especially the built where they build a robot. The main characters Meg and Cam are really likeable. I would recommend this book to both boys and girls.

Book pages The Teddy Bears' Picnic
The Teddy Bears' Picnic
I read it to AvaW aged 3
My daughter got this from nursery. She enjoys this book as we can read it together, or sing it. She enjoys looking at the pictures of all the different teddy bears, and the pictures of the picnic, saying what different food there is and what food she likes.

Book pages Solomon Crocodile
Solomon Crocodile
I read it to AvaW aged 3
My 3 year old bought this book home from nursery. Solomon crocodile likes to play, but the other animals and insects that live by the river don't want to play with him. Its a nice ending though, as at the end he has a crocodile friend to cause trouble with. Its a lovely story which my daughter enjoyed, not too long, but good length for little ones. The illustrations are simple and colourful. An entertaining book over all.

Book pages LEGO DC Super Heroes Character Encyclopedia: Includes Exclusive Pirate Batman Minifigure
LEGO DC Super Heroes Character Encyclopedia: Includes Exclusive Pirate Batman Minifigure
MicahW read it aged 7
I am mad about lego, so this book was a big thumbs up for me. This is the DC superheroes character encyclopedia, it includes the minifigures, vehicles and explosive sets. For each character such as batman, bruce wayne, joker etc it gives you their vital stats and other interesting facts about them, and for the vehicles it will also give the vital stats, and what different features of the vehicles do. It is a book I read plenty of times and I never get bored of it. It is fun and interesting and any lego/superhero fan would enjoy this. It is easy to read and I learnt some new facts about the characters I didn't know before. If I get a new supherhero lego character, I get the book out, and look up facts about them.

Book pages Disney Frozen Annual 2017
Disney Frozen Annual 2017
I read it to AvaW aged 3
My 3year old loves Frozen, so she was very happy to get this book, and she loved it. We have looked at it together so many times, and it will be a book she keeps going back to. There were lots of different activities in the book which was good; stories, games, colouring in, things you could make at home, so it kept her entertained. Some bits she was a bit too young for, such as the word bits where you unscrambled words and word search, but we just missed those bits out. She loved the game where you needed counters and a dice, and the cool quiz where it showed you 2 pictures of characters and asked a question, and you had to pick which character it was talking about. There is so much to do, and it gave you the answers to the puzzles at the back of the annual. a big thumbs up from us.

Book pages There's a Dragon in my Dinner!
There's a Dragon in my Dinner!
MicahW read it aged 7
This was a really enjoyable book. Eric finds a tiny dragon in his dinner, called Pan. Eric  thought it was a toy but it was real, and he gets Eric into loads of trouble. I thought it was a cool book as I like dragons. It was easy to read, with black and white illustrations throughout which are funny. Pan the dragon is very likeable and he would be great to have as a friend, even though he is very destructive. It was very funny, and it made me laugh that Pan could speak English. I didn't want to put this book down, I would definitely recommend it.

Book pages Behaviour Matters: Monkey Needs to Listen - A book about paying attention: Big Book
Behaviour Matters: Monkey Needs to Listen - A book about paying attention: Big Book
I read it to AvaW aged 3
My 3year old chose this from the library as she liked the cover with the monkey on the front. It is a great book about teaching young children the importance of listening and paying attention. The bold illustrations appealed to my daughter, and the text is easily read, designed for young ones just learnt to read. I liked at the back of the book there was ideas and advice on how best to get the most out of the story for the child. The story is interesting and fun, and my daughter could join in with the book due to the repetition.

Book pages The Hundred-Mile-an-Hour Dog: Master of Disguise
The Hundred-Mile-an-Hour Dog: Master of Disguise
MicahW read it aged 7
This was a really funny book, that would appeal to boys and girls. Trevor has a dog called Streaker, he has been misbehaving so Trevor's dad is threatening to send him away to dog boot camp, and also dogs in the neighbourhood keep disappearing. So Trevor comes up with a plan with his friend so that won't happen.  I couldn't wait to see what happened at the end, so wanted to keep reading it. It was easy to read and not too long. A very enjoyable, entertaining book.

Book pages The Messy Book
The Messy Book
I read it to AvaW aged 3
This was a very enjoyable book, and I liked that it was a hardback. Cat makes a mess, Dog is asking her to tidy up but she won't. Dog makes plenty of efforts to get Cat to tidy up, offering to help but she just wants to shove it in a corner, jump on it, give the mess to other animals etc. My daughter found the book funny, and she could relate to the story. We liked the quirky illustrations, her favourite bit was when Cat hoovered up all the mess up, then it all exploded out of the hoover making a mess everywhere again. They did eventually tidy up in the end, and had a party, which then resulted in more mess. A very enjoyable book.

Book pages Where Do You Live, Snail? Board Book
Where Do You Live, Snail? Board Book
I read it to AvaW aged 3
My daughter chose this from the library. I would say it was more suited for younger children, 1-2years but she still enjoyed it. Its very simple, only a few words on each page. Bright, eye catching, colourful illustrations, and a board book, good size for little hands. On each page snail asks some different animals or insects where they live, such as a mouse, bees, bird. It says where they live and shows you a picture of it. The last page says about snails home being on his back, and you can spin the wheel so the snail hides in his shell, which my daughter enjoyed.

Book pages Peter Rabbit: I Love You
Peter Rabbit: I Love You
I read it to AvaW aged 3
I would say this book is suited to up to 2year olds. It is short and sweet, with not many words, but a lovely Peter Rabbit book about Peter Rabbit and what he does in the day; plays, naps, eats etc. On the end page Peter Rabbit is cuddling his mom who says she loves him, and there is a mirror for the little one to see themselves in.

Book pages This Is Me, Dressing Up!
This Is Me, Dressing Up!
I read it to AvaW aged 3
My daughter chose this from the library, it was a bit babyish for her, suited more for up to 2year olds I would say. This is a book about dressing up. On each page is a different member of the family such as mom, dad, granny etc and it will show a picture and say what they are wearing. Each page has a different bright colour and the illustrations are bold. At the end there is a fold out page of the little child growing up. Short and simple book.

Book pages My Daddy and Me
My Daddy and Me
I read it to AvaW aged 3
A sweet book about a little bear and his daddy. It shows them doing different things together, and says how it makes him feel being with his daddy, such as brave, big and tall, etc. Its such a lovely book. Ava has also read it with her daddy, she wanted him to read it as it was about a daddy. It is a soft book, perfect for little hands and it is a short story for little ones.

Book pages Spynosaur
Spynosaur
MicahW read it aged 7
Spynosaur  is a great spy. He has the body of a dinosaur and the mind of a spy. It was very enjoyable, easy to read and I liked the black and white illustrations throughout. It was interesting, funny and adventurous. I really liked the bits where Spynosaur was defeating the bad guys, and Amber and Spynosaur were my favourite characters. There were bits throughout the book that were flashbacks, in a comic format which  liked. It was well written and I would recommend it for both boys and girls.
