My daughter had this book from school. She enjoys all the books from this reading scheme, as she knows all the characters. She found it easy to read, needed no help, and she enjoyed the story and illustrations, it was just a bit easy for her level of reading. Very short, simple sentences
It was very simple, lots of little pictures but short sentences, with the pictures background colour always being bright green, which is very eye catching. My daughter read some of the book with me. We liked the ending, we didn't expect that, and my daughter thought it was funny. I dont think its a book she will want to read over and over.
My daughter had this from school as her reading book. She really enjoyed the story. She could read it fine independently, no words she struggled with. She enjoyed looking at the pictures, and she liked the ending, which she didn't expect.
I thought this book was really funny, and full of adventure, which I liked. There were black and white illustrations in the book, but I didn't take that much notice of them. I liked the names of the chapters. The chapters were quite short. I would definitely recommend.
My daughter had this from school as her reading book. She has watched the alpha blocks on t.v. before, so she liked that she had the book. She could read it independently without any help, and she liked how the alpha blocks letters spelt words out.
I got given this book in a free bookstart pack from the health visitor. It is very simple, aimed at babies and toddlers. Short sentences, sometimes just one word on a page. My daughter who is 5, has also read it to her baby brother.
My daughter had this book from school as her reading book. She was able to read it independently with no help needed. She enjoyed the story, and reading about what the monster got up to. She enjoyed the illustrations, and thought it was a fun book
I don't read a lot of poetry, so didn't know what I would think about this book. There is a contents page, so can read it in order, or skip to the poems you think you will prefer first. None of the poems were really long, some of them were quite short. I preferred some more than others, the ones that were funny, and also the rhyming ones. I liked the book more than I thought I would. Not all poems are boring
My daughter has the Disney film, so I knew she would enjoy the book. I have read it to her a few times, and she had attempted to read it herself also, with my help. She likes that the story is the same as the film, but just shortened, and she enjoys looming at the pictures, which are also from the film. It is quite long, but my 5yr old happily sat through it.
Nice, colourful illustrations.the tombliboos are playing the piano loudly, and the other characters join in by doing various things, such as blowing their horn, singing, dancing. Everyone is quiet at the end
