Book pages JoJo Siwa Be You Journal
JoJo Siwa Be You Journal
I read it to AvaW aged 4
My daughter chose this when she saw it in the book shop, as she loves Jojo Siwa, and she also has one of her activity books which she loved. She absolutely loves it, it is a lot of writing and drawing, and even though she is only 4 she can read and write so its fine for her. Most things she could read, and she would ask me how to spell things, but some things she needed help with reading, if it was big words, or something she didn't understand what the meaning was. It kept her entertained for a while. There is a variety of things to do. Answer questions about your best friends, write your weekly schedule, write about school, answering questions about family, drawing pictures, playing pairs, picking your favourite bows, recipes, blank pages for your ideas, dreams etc. This journal is great for any JoJo fan

Book pages L.O.L. Surprise! #My Totally Awesome Art, Fun & Play Annual
L.O.L. Surprise! #My Totally Awesome Art, Fun & Play Annual
I read it to AvaW aged 4
My daughter saw this in the bookshop, she chose it as she is a big fan of the L.O.L dolls.  There was a variety of activities to do in this activity annual. Lots to do and keep my daughter entertained, Such as colouring  recipes, , drawings, wordsearches, games, how to make things etc. My daughter loved the bit at the beginning where you got your L.O.L name by picking your favourite colour, month you were born, favourite animal, which all corresponded with certain words. So your name would be something like posh babe or glitter dancer. My daughter did it for all her friends as well. She enjoyed the colouring and drawing pages, but some things she was too young for, such as the crosswords, and unscrambling of words.

Book pages Ten Little Pirates
Ten Little Pirates
I read it to nursery job aged 2 to 4
I read this to a group of children at nursery, aged 3to 4yrs. They chose it for me to read, as they liked the front cover, and that it was about pirates. It was easy to read, the words flowed due to the rhyming. Each sentence on each page wasn't very long. Something happens to a pirate on each page, so it counts backwards from ten pirates. So I get the children to work out what number is next, each time a pirate disappears, which they enjoy doing. So it is a fun book, which helps with their counting.

AvaW read it aged 4
My daughter was given this as her reading book. She was looking forward to reading it, as she loves growing stuff, and we grew cress not long ago. My daughter could read it independently, only needing help with one word. She also enjoyed looking at the pictures of how they grew the cress.

Book pages A Busy Day for Birds
A Busy Day for Birds
I read it to AvaW aged 4
My daughter was given a copy of this book for free at our local library, as they were given some from book start, book trust. I liked that the book was small, great for little hands. My daughter loves animals, do the fact that it was about birds she was very happy about. Each page and illustration was very bright and colourful, eye catching. We liked the rhyming and that it was pretty short and sweet. She also enjoyed looking at the different birds. A lovely book

Book pages Fantastic Fish
Fantastic Fish
AvaW read it aged 4
My daughter had this as her reading book from school. She has recently been to the sealife centre with school, so she liked that the book was about fish. She could read it well independently. There were a few big words in the book, but she is at the stage in her reading where she can break down bigger words to work out what it says. But beginner readers may struggle with this book. She enjoyed reading about and looking at the pictures of the different fish on each page.

Book pages KS2 English SATs Revision Guide: 2019 Tests
KS2 English SATs Revision Guide: 2019 Tests
MicahW read it aged 9
I enjoy my workbooks, and I've had a letts maths one which I like. It was easy to do independently, I need to ask my parents for any help. I liked that the answers were in the back, so once completed you could mark it, and see what the answers were if you got any wrong. Some bits were a bit boring, but I sometimes find that about English tests anyway, as I prefer maths, but over all it was good and very helpful in practising for my sats

Read it Yourself Level 3: Thumbelina

I saw this book at the library and got it for my daughter, as I used to have a thumbelina book as a child, which I loved, and I liked that it was a read it yourself one, so my daughter could read it herself. My daughter had no trouble reading it herself, and she really liked the character of Thumbelina. She enjoyed looking at the illustrations, and her favourite part was the ending.

Book pages Picking Pickle: Which dog will you choose?
Picking Pickle: Which dog will you choose?
I read it to AvaW aged 4
My daughter loved this book. She was looking forward to it, as it was about dogs, which are one of her favourite animals. We have spoken about getting a  dog in the future, so she liked the idea of it being about picking a dog. She loved looking at the different illustrations of the dogs, and deciding whether she would like that particular dog or not. It was a lovely book, and we really liked the ending. It was good that it was narrated from a dogs point of view. A big thumbs up.

Book pages Thumbelina
Thumbelina
I read it to AvaW aged 4
My daughter chose this from the library. She had a read it yourself thumbelina book which she loved, so she saw this and wanted this one too. This book was more detailed and quite long, with lots of hard words, so I read this to her. She enjoyed listening to the story, and looking at the colourful illustrations. She knew the story, but this one had other added details the other book she read didn't, so she liked it was a bit different, as it was exciting for her to see what would happen next.

Book pages Football School: The Amazing Quiz Book
Football School: The Amazing Quiz Book
MicahW read it aged 9
I have taken a big interest in football lately, so I was looking forward to this book, and liked the fact that its a quiz book. Even though I don't have a massive amount of football knowledge, I was looking forward to it, as I would learn new facts. I liked that I could check what questions I got right or wrong, as the answers were in the back of the book. You can fill it out at your own pace. I liked that it wasn't just boring questions, there were interesting and funny ones too.

AvaW read it aged 4
My daughter got this reading book from school from her teacher. She does enjoy all the biff, chip and kipper books, as she knows all the characters. She could read it independently no problem, and it wasn't very challenging for her at all. She did enjoy the story, just flew through the book

Book pages This Rabbit, That Rabbit
This Rabbit, That Rabbit
I read it to nursery job aged 2 to 4
Read to a 2yr old at nursery. It is very simple, 2 words on each page so its a very short book. Liked the rhymes. Think its more suited to babies and 1yr olds.

I Went To The Zoopermarket
I read it to nursery job aged 2 to 4
I read this to a group of 4yr olds. They loved it. They thought it was a funny book. Their favourite bit was the lift the flaps, as I would choose someone different to lift each flap. Before they lifter the flap, they would try and guess what was underneath from the clues given. They enjoyed the illustrations, and will be a book they want to listen to over again

Book pages Solomon Crocodile
Solomon Crocodile
I read it to nursery job aged 2 to 4
I read this to a group of 4yr olds. It was their first time hearing the story. They were engaged in the story, and enjoyed listening to it. We felt a bit sad for Solomon. As even though he was a pest, everyone was telling him to go away. The children loved the ending when someone else turned up that was causing trouble, and Solomon wasn't on his own then. The children enjoyed looking at the illustrations and telling me what the other animals and insects on the pages were
