Book pages Spot Visits His Grandparents
Spot Visits His Grandparents
I read it to AvaW aged 2
My daughter loves Spot books, we have loads of them, but she especially likes this one, as she likes to go and visit Her grandparents. My daughter loves getting involved in the story by lifting the flaps. It says grandpa in the book, rather than grandad, so my daughter will say it's grandad, but it's an enjoyable book

Book pages Where's Wally? The Colouring Book
Where's Wally? The Colouring Book
I read it to MicahW aged 6
A great colouring book. I did this with my 6 year old and we both loved it, so it's great for children and adults. Even if you aren't a fan of Where's Wally, it's still great. You need lots of concentration to find Wally. I liked that some of them were hard to spot, and it kept us both entertained for ages. Some pages you could add your own drawings too, and it even gives you other things to spot on the pages, not just Wally. My son liked that he could colour the Wally scenes how he liked. Would definitely recommend

Book pages Peppa Pig: Best Friends: A Lift-the-Flap Book
Peppa Pig: Best Friends: A Lift-the-Flap Book
I read it to AvaW aged 2
My daughter loves Peppa pig, so I knew this would be a big hit, and also because it is a lift the flap book, which is always great for engaging the little ones with the book. It talks about different characters such as mommy pig, peppa, george, grandpa pig, etc and says who is their best friend and what they like. The flap reveals the best friend, and my daughter loves to guess who is under the flap. Lots of colourful, bright illustrations and the length of the book is perfect for little ones.

Book pages Volcano & Earthquake
Volcano & Earthquake
MicahW read it aged 6
I have a few DK information books which I have always enjoyed. I wanted to learn more information about volcanoes and earthquakes so thought this would be . I learnt lots of new facts and the pictures were great, so you could see what things looked like alongside the information. I really liked at the back of the book there was a question and answer section, a timeline and a glossary. I liked reading about planets that are believed to have volcanoes, that was very interesting. It was easy to read most of it independently, and there are other books in the series covering a wide range of things such as sharks, and other animals, wars ad the human body etc

Book pages The Fairytale Hairdresser and Cinderella
The Fairytale Hairdresser and Cinderella
I read it to AvaW aged 2
This story is a twist on the classic tale. In this version, Cinderella doesn't have an invite to the ball, and can the fairytale hairdresser make her dreams come true. It was a funny book, and my daughter liked the bright colourful illustrations and the glitter. We liked the hairdresser Kittie, she was very kind and helpful and we liked the modern day cinderella in this version. A great story for little ones and older girls

Book pages The Fairytale Hairdresser and Beauty and the Beast
The Fairytale Hairdresser and Beauty and the Beast
I read it to AvaW aged 2
I knew this book like be a hit, as my daughter loves the beauty and the beast film, and we have the Cinderella version of this book, which she loves. It was easy to read and kept my daughters attention. We loved the illustrations which were beautifully done and very colourful. My daughter likes the hairdresser bit of the story, as she can relate as she goes to the hairdressers. She like the end bit where the prince tries different styles until he found the right one. We have read this book lots, it's a great twist on the classic.

Book pages Can I Eat That?
Can I Eat That?
I read it to AvaW aged 2
My 2year old enjoyed this book. She enjoyed telling me the foods on the pages she knew and then guessing whether or not you could eat the food that was more unfamiliar to her, like A sea urchin. A lot of things she was surprised that you could eat. We both learnt something from the book and I liked that the illustrations were simple. It got my daughter talking about food and asking questions about things she eats. She loved the last page where it says can I eat? And has pictures of various things, such as animals, food and then silly things like pants. She enjoyed going through them saying whether you can eat them or not, and she  found the silly ones like pants funny as you can't eat them. We don't come across many books like this about food, so I thought it was really good.

Book pages Battling Dinosaurs
Battling Dinosaurs
MicahW read it aged 6
This was a really great dinosaur book. I love dinosaurs so this was something I really enjoyed. I really enjoyed the dinosaur facts as I enjoy learning new things and the life like pictures were really good. It was easy to read, with not too much information on each page. The added bonus that came with this book was the app you could download, which I got on my iPad, which was free of charge. The app was really cool and very entertaining. In single mode the dinosaurs come to life, and you can see them through the laptop walking around your house and I really liked that you could hear the dinosaurs roar. If you have 2 devices you can battle the dinosaurs against each other. If you want to pay, through the app you can purchase more dinosaurs as well. Overall a brilliant book

Book pages Wipe Clean Learn to Write
Wipe Clean Learn to Write
I read it to AvaW aged 2
I was looking for a wipe clean book to help with writing for my daughter, as the wipe clean ones you can use over and again. It was a great price, it didn't come with a whiteboard pen, but we have plenty at home. This one focused both on letters and numbers which was great, and also included shapes and colours. I liked for each letter and number it had space to repeat them a few times on the lines, not just do them once, as repetition helps. It went from individual letters to whole words.my  daughter is a bit young for that, but it's great that as she gets better with the writing she can progress to writing the words. There are lots of colourful, bright pictures throughout, it is very engaging.

Book pages Peekaboo 123: Counting has never been so much fun!
Peekaboo 123: Counting has never been so much fun!
I read it to AvaW aged 2
We love this book. I had been teaching my daughter her numbers, as she can count but she doesn't recognise all the numbers, so this book was perfect. Its a sturdy book that will last a long time, great for little hands. A bonus for my daughter was that it was a lift the flap book, as she loves them. The illustrations were bold and colourful, and my daughter enjoyed telling me the names of the animals behind each flap. It is a fun, educational book which we can use when my daughters slightly older as well as it counts in tens up to 100 also. My daughters favourite bit had to be spotting the little green snail on each page, that was a great idea. Definitely recommend!

Book pages Don't Put Your Finger In The Jelly, Nelly
Don't Put Your Finger In The Jelly, Nelly
I read it to AvaW aged 2
My daughter thought this book was really funny and she was laughing out loud at the silly rhymes and she liked in included names with each rhyme, as she knew people with some of the names. She thought it was great that you could put your finger in a hole on each page, and on the page behind it would look like some kind of creature had trapped her finger. The illustrations were eye catching, colourful and bright and it was a simple book with short sentences, a great length for toddlers. Its a really fun, silly book that all little ones will enjoy

Book pages Guinness World Records 2016: Blockbusters
Guinness World Records 2016: Blockbusters
MicahW read it aged 6
I have the 2016 Guinness world records book and love that, so I was really excited when I won this one. I really enjoy information books, so this was right up my street. I liked that you could read it it any order, and I could skip to the bits I liked best first, such as  mine craft, consoles, robots and thee superheroes. My parents read bits of it as well and enjoyed it, so it's great for older children and adults as well. I learnt lots of new things reading it, and it was very entertaining and interesting. There were some funny bits as well. It will be a book I read over again, a big thumbs up.
