Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!
I read it to nursery job aged 2 to 4
I read this book to a group of 3year olds. The really enjoyed it and found it very funny. A bus driver goes on his break, and a pigeon tries to persuade the reader/children listening to the story to let him be the bus driver. It is silly but funny, with great illustrations.

I read it to AvaW aged 4
My daughter chose this from the library. She enjoyed this book. It was easy to read, and she loved the last page where ot looked like the crocodile had bitten a hole in the page so he could escape from the book. Some bits she thought were funny, like when a skirt was drawn on the crocodile. She also enjoyed the illustrations.

Book pages My Birthday Party
My Birthday Party
AvaW read it aged 4
My daughter got this book from the library. She picked it as she liked the cover. She enjoyed reading it, and read most of it with ease. Were only a few words she needed help with, which were quite difficult words like invitation, and some difficult names. She enjoyed reading about the birthday party, and looking at what they did at the party through the pictures.

Book pages Charlie and Lola: A Dog With Nice Ears
Charlie and Lola: A Dog With Nice Ears
I read it to AvaW aged 4
My daughter chose this from the library. She enjoys Charlie and lola books, and she had never read this one. She loves dogs so she enjoyed this story, about Lola wanting a dog. She enjoyed looking at the illustrations, and some bits she thought were funny. She guessed what would happen at the end of the book. We have read this story a few times, and she enjoys it just as much each time.

What's in the Witch's Kitchen?
I read it to nursery job aged 2 to 4
The children at the nursery love this book. They have heard it many times before, but still enjoy it as much every time. This is a book, not just for halloween. The children love lifting the flaps, which open 2 ways so there is a different option behind each one. It is a fun book

City Trails - Rome
MicahW read it aged 8
Micah was doing Romans as a topic at school, so it was great to win this book. He really enjoyed it. He loves his information books. He said it was very interesting and there was lots of fun facts he learnt, which he could use at school in his work about the Romans and Rome. He even took it into school to share with his class mates. He loved the fun facts, and the illustrations, and now wants to visit Rome.

Oxford Reading Tree Traditional Tales: Level 5: Oh, Jack!
AvaW read it aged 4
Ava chose this reading book from the library. She has been currently reading stage 4 books, and this is a stage 5, but there wasn't many words that she needed help with, so it was ok for her to read. Jack gets sent to get a job as he was very lazy. He got various jobs, but things kept going wrong. Ava liked the fairytale happy ending

Wriggle and Roar!
I read it to AvaW aged 4
My daughter really liked this fun, interactive , rhyming book. She liked the bits that asked if she could do things like make animal noises, and joining in with the actions. There is lots of variety in the book, and she enjoyed the bright, colourful illustrations. This is such a fun book

AvaW read it aged 4
My daughter got this from school as he reading book. In this story, the children go for a sleepover at Grandmas. She says they can use her loft as a den, which they decorate. Ava enjoyed reading the story, and seeing what they did with the den. She could read it all independently, with no assistance. She enjoyed the colourful illustrations as well

Do Not Open This Book: A ridiculously funny story for kids, big and small... do you dare open this book?!
I read it to AvaW aged 4
Ava enjoyed this story, she thought it was funny. It was very repetitive, and I thought it seemed more aimed at younger children. We read it very quickly, and Ava liked the ending. A very silly, but funny book.

Book pages James and the Birthday Balloon
James and the Birthday Balloon
I read it to AvaW aged 4
This was a really sweet story about friendship, and shows how friends should be kind to one another. Ruby ends up in hospital and her friend James tries to make her feel better. My daughter could relate to the hospital element of the story, as she had to go in for an operation. It is good for introducing the hospital to young children. The free audio book by dr ranj was a nice added bonus.

Oxford Reading Tree: Level 4: Floppy's Phonics Fiction: The Crab Dragon
AvaW read it aged 4
My 4yr old got this from school for her reading book. She enjoys the books in this biff, chip, and kipper series. She was able to read the whole book independently, not needing any help with the words. She didn't enjoy this story as much as she has others in this series. They build a dragon to take to a dragon race, and my daughter said this book is more for boys.

Oxford Reading Tree: Level 4: Floppy's Phonics Fiction: Green Planet Kids
AvaW read it aged 4
My 4yr old got this as her reading book from school. She really enjoys the biff, chip and kipper books. She didn't know what the book was about from the title. In the story, the children were helping to clean up the woods which had become a mess. My daughter was able to read this book without any help. She liked looking at the pictures, but she wasnt as engaged with the story, as she is with other stories from this series.

Flying Fergus 7: The Wreck-It Race: by Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy, written with award-winning author Joanna Nadin
MicahW read it aged 8
I really enjoyed this book. It was easy to read, and had a good mix of funny bits and serious bits, but not top serious. This book would appeal to both girls and boys, it has boys and girls characters. It helped you learn about friendship and teamwork, and also that not all children are the same physically.

There's a Dragon in my Stocking!
MicahW read it aged 8
I have read a pan dragon book before, which I dod enjoy. I enjoyed this one just as much. It was a nice book to read in the run up to christmas. It was easy for me to read independently, had nice illustrations to go along with the story. The chapters were the perfect length. It was a fun, funny book, with plenty of adventure

Paddington at the Rainbow's End
I read it to AvaW aged 4
My daughter enjoyed this book as she likes Paddington. She also enjoyed looking at the illustrations. My daughter enjoyed telling me what different colours she could spot on each page, so this would be a good book for those learning colours. A nice story, not too long.

Bug Club Phonics Bug Set 06 Max's Box
AvaW read it aged 4
My daughter had this as her reading book from school. She found it way too easy, flew through the book, and it didn't challenge her at all. But would be a nice, simple book for new readers. The sentences were also short. The story didn't really appeal to my daughter.
