Book pages Boy Who Could Do What He Liked
Boy Who Could Do What He Liked
MicahW read it aged 6
Alfie normally follows routines, but this isn't the case when his normal babysitter is unavailable, so he ends up with Mrs Stokes who tells Alfie to do what he likes, so of course Alfie does. It was easy to read and follow. It is entertaining and kept my attention, and I liked reading about the fun things Alfie got up to with Mrs Stokes, the babysitter.

Book pages Sound-Button Stories: Gobbly Goat
Sound-Button Stories: Gobbly Goat
I read it to AvaW aged 2
This is a great book for toddlers. Gobbly goat is ready for lunch, join him on his search to find something yummy to eat. Lovely colour illustrations throughout and I liked the rhymes. My daughter loves it as there is a sound button to press, which make the noise of a goat bleating. The story length is perfect for toddlers, and on each page there were different animals, which I got my daughter to name.

Book pages Blue and Bertie
Blue and Bertie
I read it to AvaW aged 2
Bertie the giraffe leads a normal life, every day is pretty much the same. Then he meets another giraffe names Blue, and from that day forwards nothing will be the same again. I thought this was a really lovely story of friendship and kindness and differences. the illustrations were beautiful and my 2 year old really enjoyed it, and especially loved the blue giraffe.

Book pages Busy Wheels: Bag Collection
Busy Wheels: Bag Collection
I read it to AvaW aged 2
This set of 8 books were an instant hit with my 2year old. She loves vehicles as she has an older brother, and she loved the fact the books came in a bag, so she has been able to carry then with her when we have gone out. Each book is a story about a different vehicle; racing car, police car, digger etc, which I liked. The stories were a perfect length for young ones, they were easy to dad and follow, and my daughter enjoyed looking at the pictures. At the end of every book there is a picture of the vehicle at the back, and all it's features are labelled, such as the engine, headlights, warning lights on the ambulance. Fire engine is flashing is my daughters favourite book out of the set.

Book pages I Am Bear
I Am Bear
I read it to AvaW aged 2
This is a lovely rhyming book about a bear who likes to get up to mischief, play tricks on his friend, and filling his day with food. The illustrations are great and it's a short story, simple and perfect for little ones. It is cleverly written, with a play on words, and it asks questions that my daughter likes to answer. You Could use it for older children, when explaining how words that sound the same can be spelt differently, having different meanings like bear and bare. It's witty and exciting, keeps your attention, and even though near is a bit naughty you can't help but like him

Book pages Five Minutes' Peace
Five Minutes' Peace
I read it to MicahW aged 6 & to AvaW aged 2
Mrs Large wants five minutes to herself, but wherever she goes in the house, her children follow her; something all parents can relate to. We love this book, which portrays family life. We love 'Peace at last', so knew this would be a hit. The illustrations are beautiful, it's a simple story that is warm and funny. The bit where all the children are climbing in the bath with Mrs Large made us all laugh. It's a story parents and children can relate to. One of our favourites that we will read over and over again. Big thumbs up.

My daughter enjoyed this story, she thought it was funny that the veggies were alive and could speak. It kept her attention, and she liked the pictures and bright colours. It was easy to read and easy to follow. A silly but nice, entertaining story.

Book pages Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made
Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made
MicahW read it aged 6
Timmy fancies himself as a great detective. He runs his own detective agency from a cupboard at his house, with Total the polar bear. It's a crazy story, but so funny and fun to read. I liked the funny cartoons in the book, and I liked that Timmy had a big imagination. I really liked Timmy's character, I didn't want to put the book down, there was something that made me laugh on every page. It's definitely a new favourite of mine and probably one of the funniest books I've ever read.

Book pages Fairy Tales for Little Children
Fairy Tales for Little Children
I read it to AvaW aged 2
This book of fairy tales are ideal for young children. It has five stories; "The Twelve Dancing Princesses", "The Three Little Pigs", "Little Red Riding Hood", "The Frog Prince" and "Goldilocks and the Three Bears". Each story has lovey illustrations which are bright, and the stories are great to read to little ones, or great for young ones to read independently, as there isn't loads of text. The stories are funny, and I like that they have kept the traditional versions of the stories.

Book pages Socks
Socks
I read it to AvaW aged 2
This is a funny book all about socks. It's easy to read and love the rhymes, which appeal to little ones. The illustrations are colourful  and there are lots of big, silly words such as sockywockydoodah , which  my daughter thinks is hilarious. It's well written, a great read and makes you laugh.

Book pages The Bubble Boy
The Bubble Boy
I read it to MicahW aged 6
(Toppsta note: this review contains details on the storyline. Don't read on if you don't want to find out what happens!) I read most of this on my own, but some bits I read with my mom. I enjoyed this book, it was a lovely story. Joe lives in the hospital, as he has a condition which means he is not allowed outside. Joe is a lovely character and he is so brave. I loved the bit when Joe gets his special suit so he can go outside, I felt so happy for him. The mysterious character Amir is great and very likeable too. There were some bits in the book that made you feel a bit sad. I would definitely recommend this book

Book pages My Pet Guinea Pig
My Pet Guinea Pig
I read it to AvaW aged 2
This is a great book for young ones, all about guinea pigs. We have guinea pigs as pets,we saw this at the library and my 2year old wanted to get it. It was easy to read, and easy enough for a little one to follow what your reading about, and there's lots of pictures on each page of a child doing different things with the guinea pigs. There's lot of information about looking after them, feeding them, playing with them etc so both of us learnt new things we didn't know. It's a great book if you wanted to learn more about guinea pigs or even if you already have guinea pigs as a pet like we do. They do other books in the series on other animals, such as kittens, rabbits, Mice, etc and the series is endorsed by the PDSA.
