Book pages Adventures in Space
Adventures in Space
MicahW read it aged 9
I was excited to read this, as space is my favourite subject. There was a lot of information in the book, which was great.  I did use the contents page to skip to areas they I wanted to read about first. My favourite areas are read about in the book were, science in space and future space travel. I think it would have been better to have actual pictures of things in the book, rather than diagrams.

Book pages Guinness World Records 2019
Guinness World Records 2019
MicahW read it aged 9
I have a,few of these from previous years, and I always enjoy reading them. There is so much to read, and such a variety of areas which is interesting. I learn some fascinating facts from these books. The section of the book that focused on space, planets etc was very interesting. I also enjoyed reading about the fun records, such as the biggest water pistol, hamburger and yoyo. At the back of the book it tells you how the be a record breaker, and also has pages where it shows/tells you how to make things at home. This is such a fun, interesting book, that you can go back to time and time again

Book pages Deluxe Storybook Collection Slipcase for Girls
Deluxe Storybook Collection Slipcase for Girls
I read it to AvaW aged 5
8 different story books, tinkerbell, ariel, Cinderella etc. Quite big books, decent length stories. I like they're in a slip case, as keeps the books in great condition. The case with all the books in is quite heavy. Its a lovely collection for any child that likes disney, but aimed more at older children, 5 and over.

Incy Wincy Spider
I read it to Whitehead aged 0
I got this for my son as he loves the nursery rhyme. It was a fun rhyming book to read, and my son liked looking at the different animals in the story. The pages were colourful, which appealed to my son as well. I think he will enjoy it even more when he's a toddler

Book pages The Children Who Loved Books
The Children Who Loved Books
I read it to MicahW aged 9 , to AvaW aged 5 & to Whitehead aged 0
We all love this book, as its a story about how great books are. Its such a lovely story about a family that don't have a lot, but they do have lots of books. They run out of room so they get rid of all the books, and things just aren't the same. They end up getting books from a library, and it makes things all better again. Lovely illustrations

Sugarlump and the Unicorn
AvaW read it aged 5
My daughter loves this book, we read it all the time. Its a girly book, and she loves there is a magical unicorn that grants the rocking horse's wishes. She loves the colourful, bright illustrations with glitter. It is easy to read, a nice rhyming story. She liked the ending, as it was a happy one for the horse.

Book pages The Woeful Second World War
The Woeful Second World War
MicahW read it aged 9
I have read a few other horrible histories, which are funny and interesting. I found this one not as enjoyable as others I have read, that is because of the subject matter of the book (war). I did read some interesting, silly facts which were funny, but the majority of the book was quite boring for me. May appeal more to children who enjoy reading about wars.

Book pages Oxford Reading Tree: Level 8: Stories: Victorian Adventure
Oxford Reading Tree: Level 8: Stories: Victorian Adventure
AvaW read it aged 5
My daughter enjoys reading books from this series. She has read a lot, and knows all the characters. This one, she didn't enjoy as much as previous. This book is aimed at older children, my daughter is 5 but reads at a higher level, so this book has a more grown up subject, the Victorians, which she knows nothing about, so she wasn't as interested in the story. She enjoyed looking at the illustrations whilst reading the book

Space Knights and Ice Dragons
AvaW read it aged 5
My daughter had this book from school as her reading book. She said it was a book for boys, as it was about a knight and dragons. She enjoyed the adventure of the story, and the games they played, which she thought was fun. She also enjoyed the colourful illustrations. She said after reading it, that girls would like the book too

Book pages Seriously Silly Stories: Ghostyshocks and the Three Scares
Seriously Silly Stories: Ghostyshocks and the Three Scares
AvaW read it aged 5
My daughter was given this as her reading book from school. She knows the story if goldilocks, but it wasn't exactly the same, it was the story with a twist and the main character, the girl is called ghostyshocks. There was quite a few hard words in the book that she needed help with, but for a 5yr old she did a good job of reading. Probably aimed at children about 7yrs old, or with the reading ability of a 7yr old.  Black and white illustrations, but not many.

That's Not My Tractor
I read it to Whitehead aged 0
Love this series of books, have red quite a few. I saw this at the library and hadn't read this one, so was excited to read it. My son is at the age where he takes more of an interest now, so he enjoys feeling the different textures and its the perfect size for him to hold the book himself. The bright colours appeal to him as well. Nice, short book for babies and toddlers.

Oxford Reading Tree: Level 8: More Stories: What Was It Like?
AvaW read it aged 5
Reading book from School. My daughter has read many books from this scheme, and she enjoys and Likes the characters in the books. She could read it independently, and liked looking at the illustrations. She likes reading about the adventures the characters get up to, but this one was about the time of the war, and being only 5, she found it boring.

Fancy Dress Christmas
I read it to AvaW aged 5 & to Whitehead aged 0
Love this christmas book, and love Nick Sharratt. The animals are in fancy dress, and you have to guess which animal is behind. My daughter loves guessing and lifting the flaps. There are bright and colourful illustrations, which are appealing to my baby son. Love the rhymes. Such a fun christmas book

Jungle animals are dressed up as things like cow girls, pop stars etc, and you get to guess which animal it is. My daughter enjoyed saying which animal is dressed up. A fun rhyming book, fun to read as well. Love the colourful pages

Book pages Ketchup on Your Cornflakes?
Ketchup on Your Cornflakes?
AvaW read it aged 5
We have so Many books by this author, which my children love, so my daughter was excited to read this new book. She has read it lots of times, and its a book we will read over and over, as its so fun and my daughter thought it was silly and funny. Its a book with split pages, so it can be  different sentences every time you read it. You could end up with something normal like custard on your apple pie, or something gross or silly like toothpaste in your lemonade. Very entertaining

Book pages Fancy Dress Farmyard
Fancy Dress Farmyard
I read it to AvaW aged 5 & to Whitehead aged 0
Got this for my daughter as she has lots of Nick Sharratt books, which she loves. I read it to my 2 youngest. My 6month old liked the bright colours, and kept trying to grab the flaps, so once he's a bit older I know he will enjoy lifting the flaps as much as his big sister does. This book is farm animals, in fancy dress, and you can guess which animal is behind the flap. Its  really fun rhyming book, can also use it to teach younger ones animals.

Book pages Fabulous Fairy Feast
Fabulous Fairy Feast
I read it to AvaW aged 5
My daughter likes fairies, so she was looking forward to hearing this story. My daughter liked the character Lizzy the little fairy. She said she reminded her of little red riding hood, as she had dark hair and a red dress. She was a very likeable character. My daughter liked the magic in the story, such as Lizzie riding her bike in the sky. My daughter also enjoyed the ending, where she gave everyone a wish, and they all ended up with the same thing.

Book pages All In One Piece
All In One Piece
I read it to MicahW aged 9 , to AvaW aged 5 & to Whitehead aged 0
We have peace at last, which is one of our favourites, so we knew we would enjoy this story featuring the large family. My 5yr old loves looking at the detailed illustrations, seeing what they are doing on each page. Its a great story about families and its relatable for the children and adults. We liked the ending, we thought it was funny with the paint. My daughter liked the bit where baby was putting Mrs Larges make up on. Its a nice story to share, enjoyable to read, and just the right length.
