Book pages The Princess and the Christmas Rescue
The Princess and the Christmas Rescue
I read it to AvaW aged 3
My daughter really enjoyed this book. Princess Eliza loves making toys and inventions at home, but the Queen really wants her to make friends instead. Eliza ends up helping the elves in Santa's workshop, as Santa is ill and she makes lots of new friends. It is a nice story, and Eliza gets to keep making things and made friends. It is a rhyming book, with rhyming couplets, which my daughter liked, and she enjoyed the colourful, detailed illustrations

Book pages Gilbert Filbert and his big MAD box
Gilbert Filbert and his big MAD box
MicahW read it aged 7
I read most Of The book my own, but sometimes I had to ask my mom what things meant. This was a thinking book, it made you think about lots of different things. It is a lovely book, and it was funny in places. Gilbert really wants to make his mom smile again. He has a school project and his grandma introduces him to the big mad box. The book teaches you about having a goal and a plan, and you can learn from the book which is good. I liked that it had a happy ending and I really liked the grandma.

Book pages Middle School: Hollywood 101
Middle School: Hollywood 101
MicahW read it aged 7
I love the middle school series, so I was looking forward to reading this. I enjoyed it, but it was one of my least favourites Of The series. A new girl starts at Rafe's school who is cool and she wants to be his friend. He then ends up is the movie business, but things start to get wierd. It's quite a short book, I read it in one day, and each chapter is short. There were black and white illustrations throughout, but I didn't enjoy looking at them as much as I have in other middle school books. It was funny, and i still like Rafe.

Book pages Disney Frozen Little Music Note
Disney Frozen Little Music Note
I read it to AvaW aged 3
My daughter chose this book as she loves frozen and it plays the let it go song. Each button plays a different bit of the music, then the big button at the bottom Of The book with Elsa's picture on it plays the song where she sings. It can get very repetitive and the words in the book are just the lyrics to let it go.

Book pages The Polar Express: 30th Anniversary Edition
The Polar Express: 30th Anniversary Edition
MicahW read it aged 7
My mom got me this for my Christmas eve box, as I really enjoy the film. It was easy to read independently, I did think the illustrations would be a lot more detailed and vivid, and it didn't have the same characters as in the film. It is a nice enjoyable Christmas story and the same as the film.

Book pages MOG'S CHRISTMAS
MOG'S CHRISTMAS
I read it to AvaW aged 3
I got this for my 3year old as her book for her Christmas eve box. I saw it and thought she would like this Christmas story as its about a cat, and she loves animals, and because we know a cat called mog that lives nearby and visits us and he looks similar to the mog in this book. It's Christmas and there are lots of changes in mog's house which she doesn't like; noises, lots of people, a tree, decoration and outside snow. Mog stays outside and falls asleep, and everyone in the house is sad as Not hasn't come for her breakfast. Mog lands into the house down the chimney and everyone is happy to see her. She is given a bath and presents to unwrap. It's a lovely story that my daughter enjoyed, with great illustrations. We have read it even though it's not Christmas, so it's a book she will enjoy all year round.

Book pages Tooth Fairy's Christmas
Tooth Fairy's Christmas
I read it to AvaW aged 3
My daughter chose this book from the library. The tooth fairy's gets lost on Christmas eve, on getaway to visiting someone who has lost his tooth, but father Christmas comes to the rescue and gives her a lift on his sleigh. He ends up giving her a hand inside the house. It is a rhyming text, has rhyming couplets which my daughter likes and she loved the illustrations. The story made her laugh, with the things that father Christmas and the tooth fairy's get up to. A lovely story to read even when it's not Christmas

Horrid Henry Gets Rich Quick: Book 5
MicahW read it aged 7
I do like horrid Henry and I've read some other horrid Henry books which I enjoyed. In this book there are 4 different short stories- horrid Henry runs away, horrid Henry's sports day, horrid Henry gets Rich quick and horrid Henry's Christmas. it has black and white illustrations, it was easy to read and the stories made me laugh. Horrid Henry is full of mischief as usual. I enjoyed the horrid Henry gets Rich quick story the best.

Book pages The Phoenix comic
The Phoenix comic
MicahW read it aged 7
I really enjoyed these comics. I enjoy comics anyway but this one was great. It was interesting to read and kept your attention. It was easy to read and it was funny. I really enjoyed the stories and the puzzles. I also liked the page where fans could send pictures of their art in. This would be great for girls and boys, and even my mom and dad read it too.  I have asked my mom to get me some more copies, so a big thumbs up from me.

Book pages Going Shopping
Going Shopping
I read it to AvaW aged 3
This is a very simple book. Would be good for first readers. 2 or 3 words on a page, very repetitive and short. This is about going shopping, what happens before, Whilst there and after. Aimed at young children, could be a nice book to read if taking a child shopping for the first time or for those that don't particularly Like going shopping.

Book pages Clumsy Crab
Clumsy Crab
I read it to AvaW aged 3
I read this to my 3yr old and she enjoys the story. Nipper the crab doesn't like his claws. He thinks they are clumsy and just get in the way. He would rather have tentacles or fins like some of his friends. The illustrations were very bright and colourful, which my daughter liked. We felt sorry for Nipper as he didn't like his claws and they would get in the way, eg when playing with the bubbles with his friends, his claws would pop them so they couldn't play anymore. It has a lovely ending, as his friend octopus gets stuck in some seaweed and Nipper used his claws to nip at it and get him free, so then he realised how useful they could be.

Book pages Dylan the Shopkeeper
Dylan the Shopkeeper
I read it to AvaW aged 3
My daughter couldn't wait to read this, as she has a till and loves playing shopkeepers. She liked Dylan, the colourful dog. It was a rhyming text, which we enjoyed, and my daughter liked the pictures. We were glad Dylan had Someone come and buy something from him in the end. It got my daughter talking about when she plays shopkeepers, and gave her ideas for what she can sell in her shop next time she plays. There are other Dylan books, like Dylan the doctor. My daughter would love some other Dylan books.

Book pages Copy Cat
Copy Cat
I read it to AvaW aged 3
My daughter chose this book from nursery. This is a nice story about friendship. Cat and dog were friends. Whatever dog did, cat did but dog got fed up with cat copying him. Then one day cat stays away, and dog finds he's lonely without cat. My daughter enjoyed the story and liked seeing what things dog got up to that cat copied. This would be a great book for younger children and older children, maybe up to about 6. It's a perfect length for young ones, not too long but not very short.

The Last Straw (Diary of a Wimpy Kid book 3)
MicahW read it aged 7
I chose this book from school. I have some other diary of a wimpy kid books at home which I really enjoyed, so that's why I chose this one. I read it independently, which was fine. There were no hard words I couldn't read.
Greg's dad wants him to toughen up, And threatens to send him to military academy, so Greg has to shape up. I liked the black and white illustrations throughout. It was entertaining. I liked the camping trip bit, and when Free ended up outside the hotel room in just his underwear. A really enjoyable read.

Peppa Pig: Peppa Loves World Book Day! World Book Day 2017
I read it to AvaW aged 3
My daughter is mad on Peppa pig, So I knew she would enjoy this. I thought this was a good book for world book day, and would be a good book to encourage children to read and enjoy books. We knew that George would end up being a dinosaur and we liked that Peppa couldn't choose just one favourite book. My daughter thought it was funny that Peppa dressed up as various characters. It was a nice length after reading it my daughter wanted to tell me what all her favourite books were, as she said like Peppa she had more than one. An enjoyable story.
