Little Fish and Mummy
Author: Lucy Cousins Illustrator: Lucy Cousins
We really enjoy Lucy Cousins' books and this one was no exception. The board book, shaped like a fish, feuds really good quality and durable. The bright, bold illustrations are really engaging and my nearly 2 year old really enjoys pointing out the details. The story is delightful of a fish enjoying time with it's mummy and the rhyming text is lovely to read.

Rabbit's Nap
Author: Julia Donaldson
We love this series of books and Rabbit's Nap doesn't disappoint. With the rhyming text, engaging pictures and flaps to lift this keeps the attention of my toddler. He loves to tell us what is happening on each page.

The Christmas Bible Storybook
Illustrator: Mark Carpenter
This is a beautiful little book that tells the Christmas story. It is a small board book with a glossy finish. The pages are filled with beautiful photos of puppets that illustrate the story. It brings to life the Christmas story in a way that is accessible for little ones. We've really enjoyed reading it around Christmas.

Emily Brown and Father Christmas
Author: Cressida Cowell Illustrator: Neal Layton
A nice Christmas story about Father Christmas's misadventures and how Emily Brown rescues him. This was a good story, with a lovely repeating phrase from Father Christmas of "ho ho help". The illustrations are good. On some pages the text isn't very clear as there isn't enough contrast between the background and the text colour. I was disappointed that it says that being kind to one another is the true meaning of Christmas. Nevertheless a nice story that I'm sure well return to for a number of years.

My Christmas Star: Shiny Shapes
Author: Roger Priddy
This is a lovely board book with a star cut out on each page in decreasing sizes until you get to the shiny star on the Christmas tree set the end of the book. The story is of a little girl's wishes for Christmas, written in rhyming text. Really beautiful illustrations.
