Busy Robot
This is a short little board book with bright pictures and a button that plays robot 'beep beep' noises. The story shows the robot helping other toys get ready for a picnic then they all have a picnic together at the end. I found the story a bit bland and not a favourite to read. My children love the robot noises and the two year old in particular could look asset the book and make the 'beep beep' quite happily for a long time.

Tales from Acorn Wood: Friends
Author: Julia Donaldson Illustrator: Axel Scheffler
We have really loved the other books in the Acorn Wood series but were a little bit disappointed with this one. Most of the pictures were recycled from other stories and there weren't any flaps to open. This was particularly obvious when my one year old tried to reach for the place where there has been a flap in other books.

Having said that he really enjoyed pointing out all the characters and there is lots of opportunity to talk about friendship and what that means. We have read it lots of times and the illustrations are excellent. Good quality board book.

Little Fish and Mummy
Author: Lucy Cousins Illustrator: Lucy Cousins
We really enjoy Lucy Cousins' books and this one was no exception. The board book, shaped like a fish, feuds really good quality and durable. The bright, bold illustrations are really engaging and my nearly 2 year old really enjoys pointing out the details. The story is delightful of a fish enjoying time with it's mummy and the rhyming text is lovely to read.

Rabbit's Nap
Author: Julia Donaldson Illustrator: Axel Scheffler
We love this series of books and Rabbit's Nap doesn't disappoint. With the rhyming text, engaging pictures and flaps to lift this keeps the attention of my toddler. He loves to tell us what is happening on each page.

The Christmas Bible Storybook
Illustrator: Mark Carpenter
This is a beautiful little book that tells the Christmas story. It is a small board book with a glossy finish. The pages are filled with beautiful photos of puppets that illustrate the story. It brings to life the Christmas story in a way that is accessible for little ones. We've really enjoyed reading it around Christmas.
