Tales from Acorn Wood: Friends
Author: Julia Donaldson Illustrator: Axel Scheffler
Lovely book. Great pictures. The story is simple and definitely great for young children. It is always a good story to read to children as a conversation starter about being a good friend.

Fantastic Mr Fox
Author: Roald Dahl Illustrator: Quentin Blake
This book is another classic by Roald Dahl. The story is mr fox’s Battle against three mean farmers. It takes you a journey of how he is cunning and outwits them. An original well written piece as always.

The Twits
Author: Roald Dahl Illustrator: Quentin Blake
We recently read this as our class book in year 2. The children loved it. They loved the description of the disgusting mr and Mrs Twit. Mr and mrs Twit are horrible and in the end get what the deserve. A classic family favourite that will live on for years.

Matilda is a classic story that the children in my year 2 class love. The magical story is like no other. The story is one about good conquering evil in a lighthearted way. Matilda is a character seen a lot on world book day.
