Old School
Author: Jeff Kinney
Lots of things happen for example Greg Heffley goes to Hardscrabble Farm and consequently forgets his duvet.  I didn't know that a brownie was going to pop out of a bush and found it interesting.  I like the book and my favourite part was when Greg, Rodrick and his dad pretend they don't know their mum when she is going round with the petition.   It just makes me laugh.  My favourite character is Manny because he is cheeky, naughty and funny.  I would recommend this book because it's got lots of humour in it and is interesting to the reader.

The Lumberjack's Beard
Author: Duncan Beedie Illustrator: Duncan Beedie
The plot was very interesting.

I liked the book and my favourite part was when the lumberjack shaved off his beard so the animals could have a den.

My favourite character was the bird - he looked really cute and funny in his glasses.

I would recommend this book because it's got lots of different parts in it which are really exciting.

Thank Goodness for Bob
Author: Matthew Morgan Illustrator: Gabriel Alborozo
A boy called Max gets lots of worries.  He doesn't want to tell his family or teacher but they already know but don't know how to help him.  He talks to his dog Bob and the worries come out of his head and he pops them like balloons with Bob.

My favourite character was Bob because my favourite animal is a dog and because Bob helped Max with his worries.

I sort of liked the book.  I liked the part when Max got rid of all his worries.  I also liked when they started popping worries.

I didn't like the fact that Max worried that people would call him a weirdo if he told them about his worries.

I would recommend this book because it helps you forget about your own worries if you have them.

Goldfish Boy
Author: Lisa Thompson
The book is about a boy who has OCD which makes him scared of germs.  When a toddler next door goes missing, Matthew (the boy with OCD) takes it upon himself to find the toddler.
The main characters are Matthew who has OCD and Melody who helps Matthew find out what happens.
My favourite character is Matthew because you can see how he struggles with OCD.
I liked the book a lot but would recommend it to people over 10 because it has quite a creepy plot and some children may not like it.
