I think this book is so funny. The Bolds are telling their children about what happened when they first came to England. They did lots of silly things like wiping their bottoms on their curtains and eating toothpaste for breakfast. Most of the jokes in the book are hilarious.

(Mum: Very much a laugh out loud book. It is written in short chapters, with excellent illustrations which complement the comic nature of the book. Would definitely recommend for 6 - 9 year olds.)

Absolutely hilarious background to The Bolds and their Teddington lifestyle. We are sompleased that crocodile came along or we would be without Mr Bold's jokes!!

The adventure they go on is described so well.

One for all the family - a modern classic.

I really liked this book
It was short enough to read at bed time.
It was really funny, how the hyenas have pretended to be people, with sneaking on the plane and living live as humans and fitting in with other people around them, getting jobs so they can pay bills and eat. and not being found out.

This is quite a short, action packed and adventurous book. It is funny because mr and mrs Bold are explaining to their children how they came to live in England and how they are not the same as other humans! Throughout the story there are lots of jokes and the illustrations were good too. I would recommend this book to other readers aged 7+, it was a great, short bedtime story.

This story is weird and I love it! Its funny because at the start it just seems like a normal story and then when Mr and Mrs Bold tell Betty and Bobby (Mr and Mrs Bolds children) a bedtime story Its gets crazy. I like that Mr Bold loves telling jokes. When he tells a joke in the story I stop reading and tell my brother the joke.  The secret is really funny and altogether the story is great. I would recommend to younger children because I think they would enjoy this more. age 7-8 plus.

The book was hilarious with a variety of jokes. It was really unexpected and the Bolds were so clueless. I really liked the book and I would recommend it to anyone 7+ and anyone who loves hysterical and exciting books.
