Well a story involving poo always gets my 6 year old laughing and who as a mother has not had a traumatic nappy experience at some time!  Hilarious story about Haroon's baby brother with great illustrations throughout and clear text.

Great for children who can read and also funny to sit down as a parent to read to your children, highly recommended.

This book is humorous tale of how a group of friends convince themselves that a baby that comes to visit their school is actually an alien that is using mind control to manipulate the grown ups into doing what it wants.  It is written in a similar style to Diary of Wimpy Kid and as such is probably better for older children who can read it to themselves, although having said that my almost 6 year old liked it when I read it to her.  My 4 year old was not interested in it but she hasn’t started school yet so it probably didn’t mean much to her.  There are some funny pictures throughout the book and the text is written in a interesting way with some words in all capital letters for emphasis. A nice read for 6 - 10 year olds!

This was a good book which was very funny. Haroon is worried that his brother is an alien from outer space and enlists the help of his friends to find out if this is true. The friends see many strange things happening with baby Samir which make them think that he really is an alien.

There are illustrations throughout the story and the text is clear and easy to read.

This book made us laugh as we have a baby and many of the things in this story are very true!

This is a fun story, made us laugh because of all the strange things the baby gets upto. Especially the green poo. Haroon takes his baby brother into school and doing all the things baby’s do, the children think he’s from outer space. Lots to see in this funny book, that my little boy enjoyed.

I Enjoyed this book because there I saw the baby's bum and it was funny. All the kids were running down the hall after the baby. I Like the characters because they were funny. i like the pictures there were funny. My favourite part was when they found out the baby wasn't a alien. This book was funny throughout and kept me interested. Easily read by a 7 year old independently.

I am seriously glad to read this cool and funny story! The book is great because it’s surprising, full of action, and educational (for parents:)). I know a new baby at home changes everything however the children's imagination in this book went wild! Traumatic nappy expierence, panic that pupils will need to take care of the baby and teachers changing into the most nice people in the world may be traumatising! We still laught about mind contol powers of Haroon's baby brother - who obviously is from outer space:)

The pictures are fantastic and the story is very cute and heartwarming. The powerful message of unconditional love for babies is priceless.

There are some excellent observations about babies, and indeed mothers, in this short story. As a consequence of my son not having a younger sibling, he didn't fully understand why the children's reasons for the baby being an alien, were so funny. He was however both amused and horrified by the ending of the story: the baby must be an alien because it did a bright green poo, particularly as I told him this is just what he did when he was little. Overall, he thought the story was 'a bit weird' and just did not really seeing the humour in it. All in all a funny book, but a bit off the mark for my son, who has no real experience of very young babies.

I read this at bedtime to Mr4 and Miss8.  It had trouble keeping the attention of the little guy, but he was able to follow what I was reading and at the end said that he liked the baby alien.
Miss 8 thought it was amazing, and when we had read half of it and I said it was time for bed and we could finish it tomorrow, she said that she loves it and that is is fast so we should really just finish it tonight!
They both laughed out loud at parts, and Miss8 followed along while I read and like the different text and said that she liked how the special words were typed out to describe how they were talking.  She also said I was good at telling the story and making good faces to go along with it, but we have Pamela Butchart and Thomas Flintham to thank for that.  :D

N (age 7) really enjoyed this book (I read it to him, but he could easily have read it to himself), here's his review:

"I loved the book a lot and I thought that the funniest bit might have been the shepherd’s pie incident or the green poo incident at the end."

He loves the Tom Gates books and this one is written in quite a similar style. From my point of view, I was not as keen on the narrative style, which is a bit breathless and not really very descriptive.

It was a pretty quick read, maybe 30 minutes tops? Not entirely sure as we had to do it in two sittings.
