Terry's Dumb Dot Story: A Treehouse Tale (World Book Day 2018)

Author: Illustrator: Terry Denton

Meet Andy and Terry. They make books together in the world's coolest treehouse! They've got loads of different storeys in their home in the sky: you can find a marshmallow machine, the world's most powerful whirlpool, a penguin ice-skating rink, a tank full of sharks and a human pinball machine, among many other things. But none of these help them agree on their special story for World Book Day - and it's not just Mr Big Nose keeping an eye on them now, but the story police too!

Terry's Dumb Dot Story is a special World Book Day Treehouse adventure from Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton, told through a combination of laugh-out-loud text and fantastic cartoon-style illustrations.

Well, what are you waiting for? Come on up!

Very amusing story about Andy the story teller letting Terry the illustrator have a go at writing a story.  Terry realises it is not as simple as it seems.  It has got my 6 year old writing his own books (some with dots!) A great fun book and perfect for world book day.

This story was really funny.  I had a lot of surprises.

Andy thinks that Terry cannot write a story because he is the illustrator and Andy is the author.  Terry tries to prove him wrong by writing his own book (and drawing the pictures, too!).

I like this book. I really like all the dots and how they are joined up into weird things. The weird pictures really look like Dali's pictures. It was funny when Andy, Terry and Jill turned into silly, broken pieces. I would like this as a real book so I can look at it forever.

(Mum: My son started reading this at 6.10pm and by 6.50pm, it had been read, digested and then looked through again. He was a bit dubious about it at first, but when the story got going he loved it. He is now drawing dot evolutions based vaguely on the story. Definite hit.)

This is an amazing short story for world book day!  It is part of the tree house series but is kind of a story in between.  I enjoyed the part when the story police came to arrest terry for the stupid  ending ''it turned out it was all a dream''.  I thought it could have added more references to the other books but I'm someone who's read all the books and would want that anyway.  I am happy that they didn't introduce any new complicated characters as this would be more confusing for new readers of Andy Griffith's tree house books.  To conclude I really enjoyed this book so definitely get it for world book day.

The story was really funny because all the words got bigger. I liked the funny names, and I liked that there were pictures in with the words. I kept wanting to read more, and couldn't put it down.

This book is so silly and hilarious! Its about the Author and the illustrator (Andy and Terry) Andy narrates the book up until Terry argues that he should get a go narrating as well. I think you can picture it more because there is a picture on every page. so that helps to get into the book more. I like that Terry can't think of what to put in the story and then he just starts talking about dots. the idea of the story police hunting them down is really cool and Mr big nose was funny as well. My absolute favourite part of the book was the very last page, But I wont tell you what happened because that would give the whole story away. This Story was amazing and I would recommend to age 7 plus.

I LOVED this story. I love the Tree House stories and this was brilliant too. The illustrations are amazing and the story was very funny. Andy, the narrator, lets Terry, the illustrator, have a turn of writing and he realises how tricky it can be until he comes up with his dot story. I would highly recommend this book to children aged 7+.

This book is hilarious and quite dumb.
I loved it when all of the shapes joined up!

THIS BOOK IS AWESOME AND CRAZY-READ IT!!!!

I have loved all the other storey treehouse books and raced through them all lots of times. The illustrations and their arguments make me laugh out loud.  One of my favourite parts was when Terry, Andy and Jill have a dream when the dots join up, then when they all wake up some of the dream becomes a reality which creates the hole that the story police fell down which was very funny!  They all have great imagination and the shapes of the dots are really weird.

WARNING
THIS BOOK IS VERY DUMB AND CRAZY!!!
