Our hero Ben is bored beyond belief after he is made to stay at his grandma's house. She's the boringest grandma ever: all she wants to do is to play Scrabble, and eat cabbage soup. But there are two things Ben doesn't know about his grandma.
1) She was once an international jewel thief.

I liked this book because it was a great adventure and it kept me wanting to read. All David Wakkiams books make me feel this way.
The big felt a bit neglected by his parents at first and did not like being at his granny's at first but then he started to be curious about what his granny was up to and discovering things about her. Granny was secretive and adventurous.
This book was very funny and I loved the story and the unexpected twists in the story

We loved this funny book. David Walliams captures the special relationship between Granny and Grandson and the mischief you can get up too when visiting Grandparents although I think my cooking is so much better than cabbage soup.
We are dressing Saschas Great Grandmother up as Gangsta Granny for an upcoming Birthday party.
Hilarious book.

Absolutely great book. I really like doing this book and even better than TV show. I think that the Granny is really funny and is such a surprise that she turns out to be a gangsta! It is so good when they go on an adventure to the tower of London.

This was the first of David's books that I read with my son. The story of Ben and his granny is truly magical as they get to know each other and Ben sees a side of his gran that he didn't know. My son was 6 when we read this book and I think this was a little young. we have since re read the book and my son enjoyed it even more. The story is one of love for the older generation and one I could relate to as a child who adored her granparents.
