This is a very interesting book about  different aspects of football. There is subjects in there fictional school 'football school' such as science, design technology, maths,English and film studies.  It is very well written as well as Beijing mega funny and over all it is a good book to read.  It is the second one in the series but that does not mean it will not make sense to new readers.  I would recommend this book to anyone 8+ with a love of football.

Vomit. We all know what that is. But what I didn’t know was that the corridors that you walk through when you enter or leave a stadium are called vomitories, just as they were in roman amphitheatres. Nor did I know that safety guidelines in the UK require stadiums to be designed so that it is possible to get everyone out of the stands in eight minutes. Eight minutes to evacuate some 60,000 people. Pretty impressive...and the movement of people through the corridors resembles the act of vomiting, all those people spewing out of the stadium. Vomitories. Kind of rolls off the tongue doesn’t it

So that’s how football explains the world. Stadium design involves architecture, mathematics, design and technology with a touch of psychology in the décor and design of the away team changing room. English is covered in match reporting and geography deals with the pitch. It’s all there.

You can dip in and out of the book, you can start in the middle, you can start at the beginning and read right on through - right up until the point when you have to turn out the light and go to sleep! The layout is appealing, the illustrations engaging, the facts engrossing (sometimes just gross). There's something for everyone.

Great book, first of all the presentation, design and hard back cover are really nice. The content is fantastic and my daughter has loved it, she's into science and this book is all about sports science and football. It adds a lot of background and history to the topic, she's taught me a thing or two since reading this. Each chapter/section has a quiz to test their knowledge along the way. Would definitely recommend.

I liked the set up of the book. There were bits like a comic, tables, quizzes and  drawings. It was fun to read, and I learnt new facts about football. I enjoyed doing the quizzes. The chapters were short, but the whole book was a decent length. Even if you didnt like football, there is something in this book for everyone

This is a different angle on football, presenting little known facts about the sport. It is a must read for football mad kids (and adults) but it also offers up some interesting facts for those who have an inquiring mind about things other than football. The book is well written and the layout is easy for readers of all levels, although I would recommend this for ages seven and over.

Wow, this book comprises a meaty little number of hidden education! So much information deriving from an interest in football as the initial lead into all sorts of facts and information that my head is reeling from my son's constant flow of 'Mum... Did you know...' statements! Now to get hold of the first one in the series and buy some for his friends!

This book wasn't what we expected and harder to get into then a normal storyline.  It is something you can dip in and out of for short fun and facts but not the sort of book that really suited what we would normally read.
