this is a very good book about a pig that used to be a pet of a young girl, but it got very old and the young girl couldn't look after it anymore. so they took it to a farm nearby but the young girl was still upset. but one day the pig meets a spider called charlotte and thats why the book is called charlottes web. I liked this book because I like animals

A wonderful and charming tale of a pig and his friendships with other animals on a farm.  The main character is Wilbur the pig - born a runt and destined to be killed at birth, the farmers daughter Fern pleads for him to be allowed to live.  Wilbur thrives, and is sold to a nearby farmer and visited by Fern. He becomes very good friends with Charlotte the spider and all is well until he learns that his fate is to be killed and eaten at Christmas. The story follows the inspired attempts of Charlotte to stop this fr happening.
This is the first chapter book I have read to my four year old. He has enjoyed the story (and now wants a pig as a pet!) but I have had to intersperse reading it with picture books as it has been a bit hard for him to hear just this at bedtime - so maybe a better book for when he is a bit older.

I absolutely loved Wilbur, he was so cute. Charlotte is so kind and helpful. The front cover is so beautiful and my book has illustrations all through which were lovely. I loved the book although it had a very sad ending. Fern is such a sweet, kind character.

This book had some chapters that were easier to follow along than others because of the dialogue. I don't think that the book gave enough explanation.
