Andy and Terry have expanded their treehouse! There are now thirteen brand-new storeys, including a dodgem-car rink, a skate ramp, a mud-fighting arena, an antigravity chamber, an ice-cream parlour with seventy-eight flavours run by an ice-cream-serving robot called Edward Scooperhands, and the Maze of Doom - a maze so complicated that nobody who has gone in has ever come out again . . . well, not yet anyway . . . The 26-Storey Treehouse is the second book in Andy Griffith's and Terry Denton's wacky treehouse adventures, where the laugh-out-loud story is told through a combination of text and fantastic cartoon-style illustrations.

This is the 2nd book in the series and tells the story of how Andy, Terry and Jill the 3 main characters met.  It follows the same format of the first book with great animations and humour throughout and you feel like the story is taking to you as you find yourself answering their questions.  Looking forward to the next book.  Would highly recommend to children aged 6 plus to give this series a go, didn't want to put it down!

My 6 year old son loves this book, we mainly read it to him but he likes to read some of it on his own too. We haven't read any of the other treehouse books (but have reserved several now!) but he picked this out in the library. It tells the story of how the characters of the author and the illustrator, plus their friend Jill, met and took on the evil pirate Captain Woodenhead. My son's favourite part is the chapter with all the ice cream flavours! It's a bit of a whacky book and fun to read.

This book is about two boys called Terry and Andy who have added another 13 storeys to their treehouse (this is the second book in the series) In this story they are telling us a story about how they met each other. Inbetween telling the story they find that some sharks have become ill by eating Terry's pants and so they cure the sharks. They also fight Captain Woodenhead who they find is still alive (he features in their made up stories and they thought he was dead) and stop him from invading their treehouse.    Its a bit of a mad book that jumps all over the place but it has lots of sketches and is in a style I found very easy to read. I don't like reading much and I read this one and the next one in the series in a day.    I liked the different areas of the treehouse, the pictures and the style.

Even funnier than the first one my son tells me. The treehouse now has 26 storeys, with the new levels adding more and more craziness like a swimming pool full of man-eating sharks, what's not to love! This is spot on to appeal to the target age range. This was the first chapter book my son read entirely on his own and he finished it desperate to get the next one!

My little ones loved this book even more than the first one. My son loved finding out what new additions they had made to their treehouse, and loved the ice cream section. They laughed as to why the sharks got poorly and loved the blow up pants. They both laughed out loud many times and I read the book to them in a day as they were so keen to find out more of the story. Brilliant book and highly recommend.

The second book in the series (the titles go up in number 13 storeys at a time, so 13..26...). Really enjoyable, engaging illustrated style with lots going on in the pages. A firm favourite already!

My son is working his way through the series, having got the box set for Christmas. So far he has read the first two, and he really enjoyed learning about how the author and the illustrator of the book met, although he does have to check with me whether certain parts of the story are real, or likely. (He is just six). The books are written in a chatty, relaxed fashion with lots of pictures drawn on each page with text spread out in small chunks throughout.

This would be a great book for children just starting to read chapter books on their own.

My son: I thought this was better than the first book. I liked it because it had pirates in it. I thought Captain Woodenhead was a bit creepy and was happy when he fell into the shark pool. I like the flying cats best. It was a very funny book.

Mum: My son loves this series of books. They have a quirky, rather silly, humour to them, however, this definitely suits my seven year old. The story within the book is complemented by the brilliantly funny illustrations.

I love the series and are waiting for the 117 story treehouse! Less scary than the first one (13 storey treehouse) which I preferred.
Like the first book, this is based in a Treehouse designed by Andy and Terry - it did have 13 crazy storeys, now it has 26! Of the new storeys my favourites are: an ice skating pond with real life ice skating penguins, an ATM (an automatic tattoo machine in case you didn't know), an ice cream parlour with 78 flavours and the maze of doom.
It's nice to get the back story at the start of this book on how Andy and Terry met and goes on to focus on Captain Woodenhead - a character from their crazy past.

The book is easy to read for someone just starting on chapter books and very funny - it really made me laugh!
One of my all time favourites.

I have read the first treehouse book and this one is even better! Andy and Terry (the author and illustrator) I like that they introduce a new character (Captain wooden head the pirate) because it adds more adventure into the story. This book was a bit like lots of stories put together. The story of how Terry and Andy met, The story off Andy, The story of Terry, The story of Jill and most importantly the story of Captain wooden head. This book was really funny and made me laugh. I would recommend to fans of Diary of a wimpy kid and Big Nate. age 6 plus.
