From the bestselling author of The Dinosaur That Pooped and The Christmasaurus . A monster has invaded the pages of this original and super-fun bedtime picture book! Children need to read aloud and follow the interactive instructions to help free the pesky monster by tilting, spinning and shaking their book. After all that fun, there is a calming wind down end- perfect to send your own little monster off to sleep. Perfect for little fans of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Julia Donaldson.

Daughter absolutely loves this book, although initially a bit apprehensive (there is a monster after all) after the first few pages she quickly got into the interaction of the book which is just perfect for 3 year olds - lots of turning, shouting and blowing...and we even have to double check the monster is still sleeping before she goes to sleep herself, perfect.

This is such a great book!! My daughter was excited about it from the moment she received it and wanted to read it straight away. The illustrations are great as is the story itself. Both myself and my husband have read this book to both of our children (aged 3 and 6) and we have both really enjoyed it as it is interactive and gets the children involved with the different actions they have to follow. Another great book from Tom Fletcher! I can see this will be a favorite in our house....

This has become my youngest favourite book. There is a monster in the book and you have to get him out by shaking, blowing, spinning the book etc, so very interactive. Great fun, my son loves reading it over and over

This book is a great favourite with my twin Grandsons Teddy and Percy aged 18 months.
It's very interactive "tilt to the left, tilt to the right", turn around, shake etc, so keeps them engaged and teaches some useful new words.
They rapidly memorised the different instructions given in the book to winkle out the monster and can't wait to "shout loudly".
Just the right amount of scary monster , who turns out to be quite nice really and the book closes gently.
One of those books to be read again and again.

Completely different concept to any book my children have read. Oh what fun we had the whole family enjoyed interacting with this book.
A very clever book with a monster living inside the audience took part in trying all it said to get him out. And at the end my baby daughter stroked his head and closed the book very very quietly. A new found favourite for the family to read together and will definitely be looking for more Tom fletcher books in the future.

We loved it.

A very cute and friendly looking monster! This is a clever book that reminded us of 'get out of my bath' by Britta t
Teckentrup. It is an interacri e book where you ha e to shake, top and shout to get rid of the monster in the book. My daughter was a little worried when he runs off to his in your bedroom, but he does come back again, phew! Lovely funny book with nice illustrations. We liked joining in with it.

What a brilliant book. The kids and I were giggling at the things it told us to do to get the monster out of the book. The illustrations compliment the story perfectly. A cute ending too. A must for any bookshelf!

"There's a Monster in your Book" is a really fun and interactive book for little readers. It has been a huge hit in our house and I have read it aloud five or six times this afternoon alone. I would say that we are now experts at getting the cheeky little monster out of the book by following the instructions on each page. The reader is encouraged to shake, tilt, wiggle, spin, tickle, shout and blow to get the monster out. But once the monster's in the room, everyone quickly realises it would be better for him (and us) if he was back in the book! So next you have to coax the monster back into the book and encourage him to go to sleep. This is our favourite bit! Once little monster is asleep the book needs closing gently - make sure you don't wake him! Although it is a really exciting book, the nice calm ending makes it a great bedtime story.

Leo had great fun pretending to get the mischievous little monster out of his book. He even came up with some ideas of his own like trying to tip him out. He found it really funny when the monster 'ran out' and hid somewhere in his room. I can see we're going to have lots more fun reading this book!

My 3 year old son has loved this book since receiving it and we have read it several times a day since! He loves joining in with the commands on each page and finds it hilarious that the monster leaves the book and needs to get back in. He carefully closes the book each time so as not to wake the monster and does go back to make sure the monster is still asleep when he goes past the book. A fun book that children are sure to enjoy!

Although I know of Tom Fletcher’s writing work (on top of his time in McFly) what actually appealed to me about this book was the illustration of the monster.  It looked so cute and mischievous- I just needed to get the book and find out how the interactive elements of the book worked.
The text is so simple but really effective.  It encourages children to find ways to get the monster to leave the book.  My daughter enjoys joining in with the different actions and it’s so simple that she can remember some of the words for when she “reads” the book back to herself later.
Although the book is full of action, the end is so gentle that it is still suitable for bedtime.

It's a very short picture book about the cute, blue monster pictured on the cover that is 'inside' the book, and the interactions (which include, blowing, tickling, shaking the book, spinning the book etc.) to try and get the monster OUT of the book.  The monster then jumps out of the book, and it says 'The monster is in YOUR ROOM!' which could be upsetting for some children who have 'monster in their room' issues, although my son was not fussed by this, as it then says to ask the monster to come back inside the book, and the monster comes back inside the book, where he falls asleep, and the children are told to be quiet and gently shut the book so not to wake the monster.

It's a short picture book, instead of a longer story, that would suit children up to the age of 5. Good for groups of children as they can watch and join in.

Simple, minimalist pictures of only the monster to encourage children to focus. ye

It's been popular with my 4 year old son who has enjoyed reading it a few times already.

I really want to like this book but find that it turns my youngest wild.  I am all for kids engaging with books but not to the level where the books get ripped.  A really nice idea, just not one for my littlest!
