Rachel and Kirsty and their families meet on the ferry, on the way to Rainspell Island for a holiday. The girls are sure they'll have lots of adventures together, especially as Rainspell Island seems almost magical. But when they go on a hunt, the first day, for the end of a rainbow neither of them really expects for find a pot at the end of it. Especially not one with a ruby red fairy trapped inside! And so begin Rachel and Kirsty's adventure to find the seven Rainbow Fairies, banished by the evil Jack Frost, and restore colour to Fairyland.

Series 1: Rainbow Fairies Book 6

With all the Rainbow Fairies scattered across Rainspell island its up to two holidaying girls Rachel and Kirsty, who still believe in magic to find the fairies and reunite them at the Willow tree before Jack Frost's goblins reach them! If they dont return them all to Fairyland.... all the colour and happiness will be gone.

A rainy day on the island....so the girls settle to some reading... but find one book of fairy tales glowing.... and it’s written in indigo ink! A trip to the Land of the Sweets beckons.... and the Sugar Plum fairy helps them in their quest to free the Rainbow Fairies! We particularly enjoyed this Rainbow Magic book having seen the Nutcracker ballet at Christmas.

My daughter is on Purple (ORT 8) but we read alternate pages to each other. Quite repetitive / limited new vocab but builds stamina and interest. Reported Book Band: Lime (ORT 11)

This book was particularly good because it refers to the Nutcracker ballet and all the characters end up visiting the Land of Sweets.  We saw the ballet at Christmas so my 6 year old early reader was really excited because she knew all about it.  As usual, the goblins try to cause trouble but this time the Sugarplum Fairy sorts them out.  Another really good read at a great level for my daughter.
