Great book for kids and adults. The story is a positive one for the children while the story will entertain adults too. The children in my class agreed that building the wall was not a good idea and that problems can be solved in other ways. Lovely illustrations and really like the letter format.

I am 7 and I could read this book on my own. I enjoyed reading about Sam's plans to build a wall in his bedroom. I think it was good that Sam managed to use different ways to end each of his letters. There are lots of interesting pictures in the book and the story helps me think about sharing with my sister.

Oh wow what can I say about this book  I absolutely loved it! A political book aimed at children  how utterly fantastic! My child is too young to even begin to understand the basics of politics but even so I was able to have some beautiful conversations with her having read this. Talking about history  inclusion and being kind. I think as she gets older it will open even more discussions  and even when trump is gone and time has past, this book will still be relevant. For me it's one of the best children's books I've ever seen

This book was a fun read.
I read it to my 4 year old daughter and throughout the book we spoke about the story and the meaning and why we should share.
We both enjoyed this book very much

This is a great book, something different and fun to read. It's a book of letters that Sam has written to the president .he wants to build a wall across his bedroom, because his older brother stays up late on his phone. The letters are fun to read and as they go on Sam and his brother start to come to an agreement, so maybe there's no need for the wall. My little boy enjoyed this.

I shared this book with my middle son who, with an older and younger sibling, probably frequently feels like building his own wall! He could relate straight away to the characters having to share a room, especially the older brother being on his phone at bedtime. We liked the idea of telling the story through letters and he was eager to hear how the situation had developed in each new letter. My son found the illustrations amusing, particularly all the clever situations which the president's face is hidden from the reader - the bath picture was his favourite. My older son also listened from across the room and chipped in with his knowledge of the Great Wall of China, which I didn't know he knew about! I liked how the book cleverly covered family life experience and geographical knowledge in such a linked way. Perfect for a 7 year old and enjoyable to share, and a great talking point when there are sibling tensions. We were also thrilled to find that the author had signed the copy for us - definitely one which will be staying on our bookcase and read many times. Thank you Toppsta!

A detailed picture book covering a very topical area sensitively. Conflict and resolution are dealt with in a way that children would find clear and easy to understand. The illustrations are interesting and add to the story- the face of the president is never seen although a shock of blond hair is always there. A great way of talking politics with children but also of raising discussion around conflict and compromise.

This book is written through a series of letters from a boy to an unnamed President, who wants to build a wall. The boy thinks that this might be a great idea to introduce into his shared bedroom, but realises over time that sharing is better than dividing the space so definitively.
Its an interesting idea, and definitely one that I hadnt seen before. I dont know if it went over my daughter's head a bit, so its one to come back to I think

We won this book on Toppsta and were excited to get this through the post. The book features a series of letters from Sam to the President.
Sam starts off wanting to build a wall in the bedroom he shares with his older brother after he  sees the president TV talking about building a wall. However, they soon come to an agreement and realise that it's not the best solution after all. It is a topical book and helps kids discuss issues around living with others in times of conflict.

This is an interesting and topical book. It's written as a collection of letters from Sam to the President. Sam has difficulties sharing his bedroom with his brother and writes to the president about it as he's heard the president is planning to build a wall and he wonders if he should build a wall too. My four-year-old was interested in Sam's dilemma and it gave us the chance to talk about sharing and how to resolve disputes as well as how that corresponds with what governments and countries do. A great starting point for discussions about how the world works.
