East End United are struggling to make this season work. Cairo is their best shot but as Captain he just can't seem to make the team work together. When Coach Ayo suggests heading to the library for some historical research the boys think he's having a laugh but the secret to a great team might just lie in the past. Fabulous football story featuring facts about the best from past to present. Particularly suitable for struggling, reluctant or dyslexic readers aged 8+

My son loved this book as he is football mad.  The story follows the football team learning about great footballers of the past and using this to come together and work as a team.  It was well written and my son read it in a day as it was so interesting.

Yes, finally, a book my 10 year old actually wanted to read, and read in less than a week! He loves football, so actually enjoyed this book, and was reading up some quite difficult footballers names and then talking about them to his dad! He says: "great reading book for anyone who likes football, I didn't mind doing my reading because I really wanted to find out what happened in this story!" Thanks Toppsta

This book was amazing and it had everything you would like . I liked how the author really thought about putting skilled hard facts in the book . This book was a very good example for how you should cooperate with people . My favourite character was Cario as he learnt that being selfless was not good for him and you should not always be selfless . The author of course had a really good knowledge because he wrote really good writing facts about the past related to football. I would like to recommend this book to  people that love football because it was based on football.

This is really good book about a boys' football team. There are also some great facts about famous footballers in it - my favourite one is Lionel Messi!
The main character Cameron (the captain of the team) has a temper. He gets really angry whenever the team loses.
My teacher's favourite line was - "They think it's all over - it is now."

I am a big football fan so really enjoyed this book. The main Character 'Cairo' is the Captain of East End. Their new manager shows them how working together can make them a great team. It is quiet a short story and is easy to read.
