This is a good book for introducing sounds and the words to young readers like 'Moo', 'Pop', 'Splatt', 'Knock, Knock' etc.My sons like it because it invites the readers to participate in making the noises at the end of each page 'Mr Brown can do it. How about you?'.
We've owned this book since the boys were 1, and I would say it has helped them associate words/sounds easily. The fun, rhyming text also helps to entertain the children and it is fun for the adult to read.
The story basically follows Mr Brown and illustrates all the things that he can do. This ranges from buzzing like a bee, to crowing like a rooster, or making a noise like a train (my son loves that part!).
The illustrations are good and often cover a double page spread - so it is very inviting to the eye. My children enjoy this story, and as such I would recommend it to other parents.

This is a good introduction to the Dr Seuss books. It's not as long and wordy as some of them and there's only a few words per page. After trying some of the others we found this suitable for toddlers. It's a very simple premise based on the noises that Mr Brown can make. As ever with Dr Seuss there are funny rhymes. Even though it's one of the shorter Dr Seuss it's still fairly long but it's fun to gallop through it making all the noises as you go.
