A nice old grandma bakes a pie, but - oh me, oh my! - that yummy treat is stolen by a greedy fox, then lost and found by a mouse, snatched by a cat, grabbed by a dog, and plucked away by an owl, before landing back on Grandma's table for everyone to share, or maybe not . . .

I read this book to my 3 year old and she loved it, it’s full of mischievous characters. The pages are also filled with drawings, which she loved looking at. She also enjoyed joining in with the “oh me, oh my” parts. A very good read

Great message about the importance of sharing- this book provided my 3 year old with lots of giggles and she loved joining in with saying "oh me, oh my, a pie!" We basically follow a pies journey after its been stolen off Grandmas window sill by a greedy fox- Amazing illustrations and sing songsy rhymes, daughter loved it!

Our five year old read this story to Daddy and then me as he enjoyed it so much, from the illustrations, which were in a refreshing natural coloured form rather than bright colours. Our son liked the travels the pie went on and how it kept on going and going, which he found really funny. As an adult I liked the use of rhyme, repetition, and the lessons on sharing, teamwork and expecting the unexpected in life.

This is a lovely rhyming story about a pie that has been left cooling on a shelf, only to be stolen by a greedy fox! We found it quite similar to another book that we've read by Jan Fearnley called Mr Wolf's Pancakes. Leo enjoyed the characters and illustrations throughout this story and the message that you should share. Another thing that he loved was reading along with the Stories Aloud audio book that you can access for free using a QR code at the beginning.

This is a lovely book and reminds me a little bit of the Gingerbread Man. It is basically about a nice old grandma, who bakes a pie, but that is stolen by a greedy fox, then lost and found by a mouse, snatched by a cat, grabbed by a dog...you catch my drift. The book is written well and in rhyme, so it is an utter delight to read out loud. The pictures are great and my family love looking at them and discussing what is going on. We love this book!!!

My 5 year old read this to me whilst I was driving. It was fab to hear the excitement in her as she turned the page to see what had happened next. She particularly liked the fox page. It was a great book for her as the repetitive form of the story made it easier for her to read.

My daughter love this book we have read it every day since we received it.  It uses rhyme to tell the story of Grandma Bear and her pie.  It features lots of other animal characters who don't behave very well so good for showing what manners are about.   The illustrations are beautiful and my daughter loves looking at these whilst we read the story.

My listeners (a class of 3 and 4 year olds and my own toddler daughter at home) really enjoyed this book!  They laughed out loud at the funny journey the pie took with all the animals after it was stolen from Grandma Bear's windowsill, and I think that they found the detailed illustrations engaging. My daughter, who is much younger, even loved to point at all the different animals.

I also really enjoyed reading this story out loud. It is well paced, flows nicely and is musical. I also thought that the design of the book was very thoughtful, as every page was quite different in terms of the number of words of the story it had, the layout, and the colours of the illustrations.

In all, I found this book to be a lovely addition to our bookshelves and I'm sure that I'll be returning to it again and again with my class and at home!

Super rhyming story about a succession of cheeky animals who steal Grandma Bear's pie one after the other! The pictures are lovely and really add to the text. I like the repetition of "oh me, oh my, a pie" throughout - this is brilliant for engaging children who can then join in. I'm really looking forward to reading this to our infant book club, I'm sure it'll have them giggling like mad!
