This is a story about a boys teddy who gets left in the park overnight and the adventures the teddy had on his own. It's a sweet story that both my kids enjoy. It's It's simple words so good when they start to learn to read.

This is another book in the “This is the Bear” series; which is aimed at young readers but I’ve found to be just as wonderful read aloud to younger children. They are a firm favourite with both of my children.
This book tells the story of the bear, who is left in the park overnight when the boy forgets to pick him up. He has several adventures, from being picked up by an owl to being dropped in a pond until he is finally rescued by a passing musician. He is dried off and warmed up before being returned to the chair where the boy returns to collect him.
On the first read my little girl (who’s scared of the dark) got quiete anxious for the bear as night was closing in! She still enjoyed the story and it only occurred on that first read but it still might be something to bear in mind for other children who are worried about darkness.
The illustrations are great; they are bright and set against a white background to make them stand out as clearly as possible. Little speech bubbles are inserted occasionally which is a lovely way of adding a little bit of depth and helping children engage that little bit more with the characters.
My son in particular really enjoys them.
The sentence structure and language is simple and the rhyming format makes it easy listening (and lovely to read out-loud.)
A lovely read and a firm favourite in our house - as all the books in this series are!
