Meet the Flying Doctors: Princess Pearl, Sir Gadabout and, of course,
their trusty 'air ambulance', Zog the dragon, in this fabulously
original sequel to the bestselling ZOG, now available in paperback.
There's much to do, as they fly around tending a sunburnt
mermaid, a distressed unicorn and a sneezy lion. But should princesses
really be doctors? Pearl's uncle, the King, doesn't think
so - until he himself falls ill, and only Pearl knows how to curehim.
This guaranteed bestseller from the creators of The Gruffalo
and Stick Man shows Julia and Axel at their sparkling
best.

Possibly my favourite Julia Donaldson book so far. Lots of characters so very fun to put on different voices throughout! Beautiful illustrations as always and a lovely tale of a fantastic heroine - a wonderful role model!

A fantastic sequel to Zog, and superb story in its own right. Leo loved following the story with its colourful illustrations and he enjoyed joining in with the repetition of 'Bang-crash-thump' when Zog attempted to land - at one stage ending up with his feet waving around in the air. Leo always seems to notice subtle similarities with other Julia Donaldson / Axel Scheffler books and he wanted to know if the mermaid's sea-snail friends were from The Snail and the Whale.

My three year old son enjoys this book very much. The story is about Princess Pearl and her two friends, one is a doctor, an the other is Zog, who isn't so good at landing. Princess Pearl wants to be a doctor but her uncle wants her to be a girly Princess. Princess Pearl and her flying friends help her to prove to her uncle that she can in be a doctor. Lovely rhyming story from Julia Donaldson

S and I thought this book was fab, we loved Zog in his first book and this was just as good.
This time you get to see the patients that the flying doctors look after as well as Pearl's family...who lock her away! The king is adamant that Pearl cannot be a doctor and must be a Princess, but the friends prove him wrong.
Nice to see that Pearl doesn't need rescuing like a regular princess, and actually uses her brain to get her out of her sticky situation.
