This book offers an exquisite glimpse into the strange and wonderful world of insects. Right now, all around you, thousands of insects are doing strange and wonderful things. But you can't always see them straight away. Sometimes you have to know where to look...This wonderful book, illustrated by Charlotte Voake and written by Steve Voake, tells us all about the different kinds of insects hiding away in your garden and how to recognise them. It's full of glorious detail, but remember - if it doesn't have six legs, it's not an insect!

This book is a perfect introduction to the insects around us for young and inquisitive minds. The text is informative, simple and perfectly pitched to make the facts interesting and understandable. The style is quite gentle and combined with the fluid and light touch illustrations make this an enjoyable read - this is not a 'text book' style of imparting knowledge. Fantastic book, and one that is enjoyable for children and adults alike.

A really beautiful book! This illustrations are really wonderful in this book and we loved reading about different types of insects and how to spot them. I learnt quite a lot! We are defiantly going to be doing some of the activities in the back of the book that gave ideas about searching and finding insects to study.
