Two greedy squirrels learn to share, in this hilarious rhyming adventure from the bestselling creators of The Lion Inside. Greedy squirrels Cyril and Bruce both have their sights on a very special prize: THE VERY LAST NUT OF THE SEASON! As the nut bounces crazily though the forest, the squirrels race after it, between the trees, over boulders, down the river and - ARGH! - right to the edge of a waterfall! Working together might be the only way to save themselves now ...

A laugh-out-loud tale about friendship and sharing. Perfect for competitive friends and sibling rivals! 'A charming story about sharing and friendship.' Parents in Touch 'Reminiscent of Julia Donaldson.' The Sun 'Delightful to read again and again.' The Bookbag 'A truly delightful tale.' The School Librarian.

This is a beautifully illustrated and well written story book. My little one really enjoys looking at the pictures and spotting things in them as they are very detailed. The story is lovely in that it has a great moral, and will hopefully encourage some sharing! This book is a lot of fun and very quirky.

This is such a great story about sharing (perfect for my two year old who dislikes sharing of course). The story is nice and captivating with rhyming for children. The illustrations are beautifully done! Would definitely recommend!

The first thing that hits me about this book is how wonderful the illustrations are. Having two boys that bicker and fight this book is a great bedtime read that promotes kindness and sharing.
Heartily recommend this to anyone.

Such a great story. My 3 year old loved how it rhymed and the pictures were lovely and bright and well detailed. We loved how the squirrels squabbled over the last pine cone but learned in the end it was better to share. Perfect for helping little ones understand about sharing.

This is such a fun book, enjoyed by the children and by me!

It's written in rhyming verse, in such a way that allows you to read it with great excitement and building anticipation as the squabblings squirrels chase the pine cone, bump off a Bear and end up over a waterfall! It had us all giggling.

The pages are of beautiful quality and the illustrations are really lovely, just as the previous books in this series. Best of all the moral at the end about friendship is great and was really taken on board by my 5 year old.

A lovely book, nice quality. We liked that it rhymed, nice pictures lots going on. We noticed that the bear followed the squirrels and they were so busy squabbling they didn't even notice. The story telling, its better to work together & its better to laugh with your friends than squabble with them. Though it is quite an amusing story on the way.

Fantastic book! We have The Lion Inside and The Koala Who Could is this new book was eagerly awaited and did not disappoint. The rhyme is wonderful and Cyril and Bruce really engaging characters that my LO loves. Even the baby loves the bright illustrations! As with all these books I like the way the story builds to a “lesson”, this one about sharing and making friends, told in such a charming way. I would recommend to everyone!

The cover of this book appealed to me immediately, as this is a pose my three-year old makes all the time! Books that deal with themes of sharing, working together and resolving conflicts, are so useful to parents of pre-schoolers, as these are common themes in our everyday lives!
This book was well written, in rhyming verse. I liked the rich language used - some of the words were new to my son, and I think rich descriptive language in books is such a good way to increase his vocabulary. This was just the right level to challenge a nearly-four-year old.
I thought the two squirrels could have been painted to look slightly more different from each other, although we liked their different personalities. I'm not sure that Cyril really learnt from his laziness, apart from that he just needed to make a friend, and could then help himself to his stash of food! However, both animals did learn that working together is best.
The illustrations really were exceptional. They will draw us back to this book again and again, and I'm happy that this will also reinforce the message of this story - that sharing and being friends is best!

Leo really liked this rhyming story about two squirrels; Spontaneous Cyril and Plan-Ahead Bruce. The two greedy squirrels race through the forest trying to get the last pine cone, until it gets taken away and they discover that they need to work together. It has a really positive message about friendship and sharing. Leo enjoyed the lovely illustrations, particularly the pine cone hitting the bear on the nose.
