The pig lives in a house in the middle of the wild wood.

But inside the wild wood there's a bad wolf - and this hungry wolf wants a little pig for dinner! But a house made of bricks is hard to blow down, so instead of gobbling Pig, Wolf moves to plan B: gobbling Red Riding Hood's poor defenceless grandma! But his despicable plan is soon uncovered and Pig decides to rescue Gran! Will this plucky pig make it in time?

A fabulously funny twist on two classic fairy tales: Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs. The Great Gran Plan is the first book by an exciting picture book pairing: the uniquely talented author and poet, Elli Woollard and best-selling illustrator, Steven Lenton.

Save that gran! Or maybe the other way round. Sophie really enjoyed seeing some of her beloved favourite bedtime story characters all in this one book. It's a lovely rhyming story brilliant for little ones (and this big one rather enjoyed it too). It's nice to share the tales I grew up with in a way that's interesting and relevant to Sophie. Fun illustrations. Great quirky twist to these classics. Lovely book.

A great modern twist to red riding hood, and the 3 little pigs. Matilda she 4 really git into this and joined in the "save that gran". It uses simple words and a lot of repetitive phrases and rhymes so is great for children learning phonics and learning to read. It's not too long for bed time, it's not too short you feel like you've missed anything or been short changed. There are also loads of pictures with loads of opportunity to point and say "what's that?" Who can we see, can you find a.....excellent book and likely suitable for 2-5 year olds.

A fantastic tale of a brave big attempting to thwart the big bad wolf’s plan to gobble up Red Riding Hood’s granny. It is so well written, with a fast paced rhyme and funny twists and turns.
It is wonderfully illustrated too and there’s so many things to spot, from funny shop signs, to favourite fairy tale characters. Lots of fun and highly recommended.

I love this book, my favourite part is the jail bit, but I love it all. My seven year old sister likes all the different characters in the story too. I keep looking at the pictures over and over again.

As a grand parent this was a great book to read to my grand daughter and caused much amusement.  Especially when we got to the 'save that gran' bits.  It's a modern twist of the fairy tales; Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs, written in rhyme, it's easy to follow the story and the repetitive nature of the rhymes means that little ones can join in and know what is coming next in the story.  The illustrations are detailed and gave  us plenty of opportunities to pause in the story and examine what was happening through the pictures.  A very enjoyable book and I can see it becoming a favourite bedtime read.  I did find the ending a bit forced by my grand daughter seemed quite happy with it.

We really enjoyed this book.  It's a kind of three little pigs meets little red riding hood versus tree big bad wolf. It's a rhyming story with a few twists and lovely illustrations. My daughter really enjoyed it. Would recommend. A great story for preschoolers up to around age 6.

My children loved this book aged 18 months and 3 years.  The pig made jasmine laugh and the naughty wolf.  The save the gran made alit of noise in the house as the girls joined in and pointed out the great illustrations.
The last page of the story didnt make much sense overall a great book.

My little one’s eyes lit up as we opened this book and he saw the pictures. The illustrations are bright and bold with so much to see and talk about. I loved eating the story to him and enjoyed the rhyming text. It’s good to have a new take on some familiar stories. I look forward to us reading this together for a while to come.

As big fans of Elli Woollard's Giant of Jum we were looking forward to this. Unfortunately it didn't live up to those standards but was still a fun read, though not one I can see us repeating again and again. George (aged five) loved the prison scene in particular but said he'd give this 2.5/5 if he could. He also felt it was for younger children. We like books where the pictures tell their own stories and there's a really clever use of this to create a twist ending (that eagle eyes readers should spot!).
