I read it to Little One aged 2 aged 2

This is a beautifully illustrated wordless book that I highly recommend. My toddler was so excited to look at this book. She found the cover so intriguing..a little girl on a bee. The book did not disappoint and my daughter asked it to be read to her again, as soon we had finished ''reading'' it. The main character of the story is a little girl who looks after a bee after it flys into her home. She is a little startled at first and is about to hurt it but after sime research she helps the bee and they soon become friends. The book promotes lots of careful looking at the pictures and lots of discussion. It invites children to be inquisitive and as there are no words in some ways no one can be wrong as it is how the picture is being interpreted. My daughter noticed sooo many things in the illustrations, they truly are very detailed. Through the pictures you see how important having flowers are for bees. It encourages children to think about nature more and made my daughter think about why it is that she sees bees sitting on flowers. It really made me think more too. This is a beautiful book and I appreciate wordless book aren't for everyone but give it a go. Make sure you have time aside for this one, it is bound to spark lots of questions with your little ones.

Oh Wow! I think this is one of our new favourite books. The illustrations really are stunning and there is so much to see on every page - it really is a 'noticing book'. Tommy was pointing to planes and people before we even spotted the bee. There is a deeper story about bees and their importance. I love the page where the bee is looking longingly at wildflowers and the one where they scatter the seeds. The packet of seeds that came with this book were the icing on the cake. Tommy loves my greenhouse and we went straight outside to plant them. Thank you for making our afternoon! A must read for all toddlers!

I love a book with no words, there is so much you can  do with books like these. Often people think they are used for younger children but really delving into the illustrations can provide children with so many opportunities for great discussion.

What a beautiful book! Full of gentle illustrations with lots of interesting things to discover, touches of humour and childlike wonder of the world, it also manages to be informative about what bees need to survive. And this is all achieved without any words whatsoever!  This is a perfect book for an adult and child to look at, and is great for providing a stepping point for discussions.  Children can follow the story by looking at the pictures, with adults asking guiding questions - "What is happening here?, "How do you think that made the girl feel?", "What would you have done?".  In this way it is possible for the child to really engage with the story, and as an adult a great opportunity to focus on the illustrations (often as the reader, you perhaps miss out some of the subtleties of the pictures).  It is a great way to encourage children to think about conservation and the environment, and also empowering as it offers simple and easy ideas for how children can help bees flourish - even in the inner city.

There is a page of information at the back of the book about bees, detailing their importance and types of bee-friendly flowers and plants. Overall, a fantastic book for anyone who wants to encourage their children to have a love of nature.

This is a really beautiful wordless picture book about a little girl who befriends a bee. We loved talking about what was happening on each spread and it was a great opportunity for my son to think about how the characters might be feeling based on what was happening around them and what their expressions were showing. The illustrations are gentle and gorgeous, with loads of background details to enjoy. We liked the baker in a neighbouring flat making lots of different creations, and the little girl's friend upstairs. The book shows what bees need to feel happy and how plants and flowers can help encourage pollinators. There is some text right at the end which explains what we can all do to help the bees.

My four year old twin girls quite liked this book. They were a little unsure of the lack of text but as long as you have the ability to make up your own story to accompany the delightful illustrations you are OK. A lovely tale of the plight of our bees, a sweet, funny story without being to preachy.

This is a great picture book, with fantastic illustrations that tell the story of a little girl, who finds an exhausted bee and the adventure they then have together. It shares a clear purpose of taking care of nature, wild animals and insects.

What I didn't like is the total lack of words - but that's just my opinion. I think it would be very enjoyable for small children without them.

This was sent with a book we won in a Toppsta giveaway!

At first glimpse I was unsure of a book without words and worried about how my daughter would feel. My daughter is taking part in wildlife trust 30 days of wildness and she wanted the book which was down to the name and the cover.
It was a completely different concept of books to me but once she opened the book she brought her own story alive and with her imagination and the brilliant illustrations we both added and enjoyed the story. A lovely book about looking after nature, enjoying nature and how we can make a difference. The facts about bees is so important and we been looking at how we can encourage bees in to our garden with good bee flowers. A fab book for imagination and kindness.

We received this book today and my 3year old was so excited to read it. My son loved tracing around the bee and me gold letters on the front cover with his finger as he said each letter. The book is beautifully illustrated with lots going on in each picture. We found that great as it helped my son build up an idea of what could be going on in the story and what the bee would do next. I like the continuity of all the little people in the background like the little boy in the flat upstairs and my son likes the spotty dog as it's just like our Dalmatian. We found it a refreshing change to look at a picture book and to make the words of the story ourselfs. It had a good message to kids about a bees job and how important they are to have around even if you find them annoying or scary like most people do. Was good to see the changing of seasons and the bee growing stronger being illustrated in the pictures. Over all a different book than we are used to but with a lovely message to show the importance of nature in our world  !

This is a beautiful book with stunning illustrations. I looked through the pages with my two small children and they were not at all interested in this book. I tried to engage them with talking about what was happening but they were just not fussed for it.
