Tilly can't believe it when her best friend Matty is asked to be a bridesmaid. In Tilly's favourite daydream, she's wearing the most beautiful bridesmaid dress and walking down the aisle behind a bride. The one wedding she'd really love to attend is her own mum and dad's - but it seems like that's never going to happen. So Tilly decides to make her own dream come true, and puts a notice in the local shop, advertising her services as a bridesmaid. And to her amazement, she gets a reply . . .

A fabulous, funny and moving story about finding family and friendship in all sorts of places, from the mega-bestselling author of Tracy Beaker, Hetty Feather and Katy.

I won this book from Toppsta and was super excited because I am a huge Jaqueline Wilson fan! This book was just as good as all the others I have read and I’ve passed it on to my best friend to read now. I like the way these stories help kids to understand different situations in relationships and things.

Tilly is a great character that shows the epitome of typical issues and how they face young children growing up. Many people could be oblivious that children pick up on things and how they effect them differently not just on the surface. Anything can be faked but this book isn't faking anything true to the title embodies a great story dealing with relevant issues.

When I heard Jacqueline was doing a book based on weddings, I was a little worried it would be all heterosexual (man and woman) couples, I was relieved when I read that there was a gay couple. I feel she did a great job making every wedding in the book very different but none were too stereotypical. I enjoyed reading the description of the dress, it is well written and very detailed. This book, like many other Jacqueline Wilson books, the age range I would suggest for "Rent a Bridesmaid" is between the ages between 8 and 11, however it really is enjoyable for most age ranges. Overall I loved the book, and would read it again.

This book is really cool. I have just read it for the third time and it never gets old. The story is about a girl called Matilda (Tilly) Who hasn't got a best friend. I liked that Tilly's dream is to be a bridesmaid and that she has a bride in mind. Tilly has lots of troubles in her life but luckily she has Matty to help her through. This book was really good and I would definitely read it a fourth time. Also I recommend to ages 8 plus as I think younger wouldn't really get it. Plus they might find it sad and confusing at some points. All in all this book deserves 5 stars.

When this book arrived my daughter informed me that she wasn't into Jacqueline Wilson any more, so I have read it!
It is another Jacqueline Wilson success that deals very sensitively with topical issues that affect many young people: parental relationships breaking down, being a single parent, friendships, settling into new schools.
I think most young girls want to have a pretty dress to wear and to be a bridesmaid, so will love this book.
It has a real feel-good factor too.

I'm not really a Jaqueline Wilson fan, however this book made me consider the pro's of being one! It's about friendship, pretty dresses and weddings, when a young girl called Tilly starts up a bridesmaid business. It's not to sad, with loads of great parts, like when Tilly becomes Matty's best friend, and when she has her first wedding

A great book, with a fab ending, I would recommend this to 10 and over, but if you are a young Wilson fan, then maybe your mum or dad could read it to you.

This is a good book, I enjoyed it a lot, although having read a lot a Jacqueline Wlison books, it's not her best. Best suited for 8 - 12 year old girls. There is a wide range of characters and the story keeps you interested. To give it five stars I think the ending should have been a bit different.

I was very excited to receive this book and could wait to read it , who after all wouldn't love to be a bridesmaid. Especially me I am desperate but it's not looking promising as mum was quite old when she had me and all  her friends and family are married already!
I enjoyed this book but I felt it was a bit slow at the beginning . I love the fact that two girls become best friend who share the same name and are opposite to each other become besties . I liked how the book considered what it must be like to have no mum around and a dad who is working hard and it made me think how kind others are.
Is Tilly destined to make her dream come true? I'm not going to spoil it !
