Definitely a classic for a reason. This is a lovely story with rhyming text. We love how the story incorporates lots of different things you can do with sticks. Brilliant illustrations with so much to see and talk about.

At first I wasn’t sure if my some would like this book, but I’m a big fan of Julia Donaldson’s works. It came in television and he was glued to it so couldn’t wait to read the book. I think it held his interest more as he knew at some point Santa was coming into it and he’s christmas obsessed but as he gets further into the book he starts to get worried he’s not going to get back home. My son really liked the pictures especially the snowy scenes and when Santa came into it. A very good read.
