My 5 year old picked this out himself and read it whilst waiting for me to get my books, he loves it! Perfect for children who like funny rhymes. A mouse and a bear have just one chair between them. The bear sits on it and does not want to share! The illustrations are gorgeous and there's a very funny ending!

This book was so much fun to read out loud. And it was laugh-out-loud funny too!!  My 4 year laughed at how the mouse reacted to a bear in his chair. But he also noticed how angry the mouse got when the bear ignored his pleas. And then how sad mouse was when he eventually accepted that he lost his chair to the bear.  It’s a great book to talk about emotions and sharing (and not sharing).  And there’s an eco-lesson on polar bears and how rare they’re becoming.  Fantastic book all around.

A disgruntled mouse gets increasingly frustrated and angry as the bear who has parked himself in the mouse's chair... *refuses*  to budge. The bear's blase response (half slumped in the chair, checking himself our in the mirror, checking his phone) only serves to infuriate the mouse all the more.... even the mouse jumping out in his underwear does little to get the bear's attention. Eventually the bear retreats to his lair.... only to find there's a mouse in his house! Time for a taste of his own medicine! The illustrations and text work hand-in-hand, with the expressions of the animals telling "half the story". Simple and effective - this book's a big hit.

We picked this up at the library as my daughter liked the cover. She enjoyed the rhyming story about a bear in a chair and a very disgruntled mouse. It was a good book to get my daughter thinking- she came up with lots of ideas about why the bear was sat in the chair, and how the mouse was thinking.

Funny rhyming book about a mouse who has lost his chair to a bear. My daughter thought the mouse funny as it tried to reclaim it's chair, and loved the ending. It's quite a large paperback, so she can't handle it on her own, but it's a good short read for us together.

Oh no! Poor little mouse has discovered there's a bear on his chair! But why is he there and why won't he leave!? A funny rhyming book that we enjoyed immensely!
