Lucy has left Lockwood & Co. A freelance operative, she is hiring herself out to other agencies - agencies that might value her ever-improving skills.

But now Lockwood needs her help.

Penelope Fittes, leader of the well-renowned Fittes Agency wants Lockwood & Co. - and only them - to locate and remove the `Source' for the legendary Brixton Cannibal.

It's a tough assignment. Made worse by the tensions between Lucy and the other agents - even the skull is treating her like a jilted lover!

What will it take to reunite the team? Black marketeers, an informant ghost, a Spirit Cape that transports the wearer, and mysteries involving their closest rivals may just do the trick.

But not all is at it seems. And it's not long before a shocking revelation rocks Lockwood & Co. to its very core . . .

'Stroud is a genius' - Rick Riordan, author of the Percy Jackson series.

If you are a fan of horror and mystery this book is probably for you. It is really exciting and may send a chill down your spine more than once. I love how the story is told because it makes it feel even more real! In all a great read.

I read the first Lockwood & Co book when I was in Year 5.  If you love scarey stories and the feeling of a creeping sensation running up your spine you'll love this series.  If you don't like ghosts, murders most horrid (not often!), scarey stories of hauntings or the dark then this might not be the book for you.
The Creeping Shadow is the fourth in the series which follows psychic investigators Anthony, Lucy and George.  'There is an epidemic of ghosts in Britain. Their touch brings death, and only children have the power to fight them.' They investigate the hauntings and stop the ghosts at source.  Full on haunting adventure!

Jonathan Stroud has done it again! Another fantastic installment in the Lockwood and Co. series...I'm not going to lie, I'm in my 30's and I love this series. Even though it is about a team of ghost hunters who fight using swords (what's not to like?!) It always reminds me of the Harry Potter series, Maybe not in subject, but definitely in spirit. I'm very much looking forward to the next (and unfortunately last) in the series!

I really enjoyed reading Lockwood and Co the Creeping Shadow. Full of mystery, drama, and a lot of ghosts! Some bits were rather scary. The writer paid a lot of his attention to detail. The case of the cannibal Guppy in the book was probably the best bit as you see all the details and there's a lot of detail. The Creeping Shadow itself was also very creepy to read about. Overall it was a really good book and keeps you hooked.

It was a very good book. It had a lot of interesting scenes to it that keeps you interested when reading. I believe it had a very good plot line and was very well written. The character Lucy Carlyle was a very charismatic person and I felt I could relate to her. Anthony Lockwood was also very nice and seemed to be a charming, well mannered boy. All of the Lockwood and Co gang have seen things that could send chills down your spine. Its what they do for a living and I admire them for it.

This was a very good book and I overall recommend it to others.

I didn't enjoy this book because I like more girly books but if you like  horror and mystery then you will love this book.

It is very real and made me shiver a couple of times.

I have passed it to my cousin who is nearly 10 I think he will like it.

About Jonathan Stroud

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) was born in Edinburgh where he qualified as a doctor, but it was his writing which brought him fame, with the creation of Sherlock Holmes, the first scientific detective. He was also a convert to spiritualism and a social reformer who used his investigative skills to prove the innocence of individuals....
