It's hard being a little monkey in a big troop, in an even bigger jungle - and this little monkey has had enough of always missing out! She's off to climb to the top of the tallest tree in the jungle and she's going to do it all on her own! Except that there's someone following close behind. Someone with claws and stripes and rather sharp teeth . . .Little Monkey is a beautiful, funny and empowering picture book from renowned author/illustrator, Marta Altes. Little Monkey shows us that the world is a big, wild and wonderful place where anything is possible. And no matter how small you feel, just be bold, be fearless and curious and you can accomplish anything.

This book was given to my child by the book trust and he loved it. It tells the story of a small monkey who learns to climb. Lovely illustrations and a super short  story both boys enjoyed it.

An exciting adventure for Little Monkey - she is fed up of being too small and goes off to climb the tallest tree. But the jungle is a dangerous place... A perfect story for young children to understand the dangers of wandering off without a grown up to look after you.

Poor little monkey, always too small to join in with any of the jungle fun, until the day she decides to brave going through the forest and climb the biggest tree in the jungle, with very funny consequences!

I picked this book up because of the beautiful cover and it didn't disappoint. The rich illustrations are split into pages with text & small illustrations and gorgeous full page pictures. It's a visually engaging book and actually the illustrations tell much more of the story than the text. This was lost on my 1 year old but there was so much going on in each page that there was plenty to look at for her and I think it will grow with her. My five year old found it very amusing and I really loved the moral of the story about being brave even when you're small (or a girl!).

This is a particulary perfect book for any small youngest siblings in a family.

Little Monkey is a story about a monkey who feels left out due to being too small to do the same things as the bigger monkeys. Little Monkey decides to go on adventure to the top of the tallest tree in the forest. The story shows bravery and how not to let your differences hold you back. The book is wonderfully illustrated throughout and my sons loved pointing things out throughout the story that they could see Little Monkey getting up to like falling down/ crossing lily pads and getting followed. A nice story before bed and we will definitely read this book again.

A story about a little monkey who is left out of so many things because he is so little. Then one day she is really brave and decides to climb the tallest tree in the jungle. My boy liked spotting the stalker and found it funny at the end. A sweet little about being brave and the illustrations are nice.

Lovely book about a little monkey from a large troop. She embarks on a journey of discovery through her jungle home not realising how close she comes to danger. She overcomes her fears and proves to herself that she can climb as fast, as high and as well as all the others but still enjoys a lovely comforting cuddle at the end. Good for little ones who are in a rush to grow up

A lovely little book about the adventures of a little female monkey who feels left out because she is so small.  It is great how she takes the initiative to have a big adventure and actually finds ways to use her size to her advantage. It's a shame she relied upon luck to solve the final problem (without spoiling the story) rather than her small size.
