Join Douglas on a honey hunt in the seventh Hugless Douglas adventure. This bestselling series has sold over 1.4 million copies to date in 26 languages! The sheep are baking honey cakes and Douglas can't wait to try them. He's sure that food without honey just isn't yummy. Can he ever be tempted to try something new? David Melling is one of the UK's best-loved author-illustrators and his seventh book about Douglas the brown bear is as funny and compelling as the first. It combines brilliantly imaginative illustrations with an endearing sense of what it is like to be a small child learning about the world. Hello, Hugless Douglas! was a World Book Day picture book in 2014. 'A new Hugless Douglas book is always a cause for celebration.' - Daily Mail

I love this book!! We have a couple of others in the series but this is my favourite. I read it to my 3 year old and it had us both giggling. The illustrations are so funny for example while all the sheep are waiting for the cakes to bake they are waiting grumpily and start fighting (hangriness strikes!) including the sheep at the back of the line throwing a carrot at the unsuspecting sheep at the front and one sheep getting covered honey and then covered in grass for the rest of the story! It also has a lovely little 'moral of the story at the end about trying new food as you never know what you might like! Perfect for my daughter

Hugless Douglas is a great series of books. The main character is very sweet and the illustrations are fun and sometimes silly which my little girl loves. In this particular story she particularly loves the sheep who are busy baking - another favourite subject. One of the lovely things about this story is that it shows a character trying to decide whether to do something new in a very gentle and child-friendly way. Just right for a three-year-old.

Another of the great Hugless Douglas books. This was a nice bedtime read and reminded us of our cake baking today. Douglas and the sheep were just as messy as we were. Douglas also tried some food that he hadn't tried before which gives a bit of balance to all the cakes!
