We absolutely adored the first instalment to this series and the second is no exception! It's such a unique and fun story that has kept my 2 and a half year old son interested through out. It's no wonder that this book is not just a favourite of his but one of mine too, it's absolutely hilarious and a real page turner!

As huge fans of the original book, we were keen to read this sequel-and it didn't disappoint! Just like ' The Day the Crayons Quit',  'The Day the Crayons Came Home' contains a series of postcards to Duncan from various crayons he has lost, misused or misplaced over the years. Each of the postcards is hugely witty-I especially liked those from Esteban the Magnificent a.k.a Pea Green :-)-and even L was giggling along as she listened to me reading them. She was also intrigued by the illustrations, and was particularly taken with the glittery and glow in the dark parts, which she couldn't stop touching. An absolute must read and sure to be as big a hit as the original.

Another fun trip into the crayon box with Drew Daywalt and Oliver Jeffers.

In this colourful tale, Duncan has received a pile of postcards from lost and forgotten crayons.

Neon pink crayon is on a world adventure as he tries to get back home.

Pea green doesn’t want to be stuck colouring peas (after all who likes peas!?) and has reinvented himself and headed out on an adventure (while the sun is shining)

Orange and yellow have found some common ground after their disagreements in The Day the Crayons Quit.

Maroon, brown and burnt sienna (or possibly tan) also have their adventures and mishaps chronicled in postcards with wonderful crayon illustrations. At the end, Duncan finds a way to keep all the crayons safe from future traumas!

I also loved the glow in the dark pages!

The first 'Crayons' book was chosen by my son's Reception class as their favourite for the year so he was thrilled to receive a copy of the sequel. He 'loved it', same quirky humour as before with new characters and old favourites. Plenty of laughs, even a veiled 'poo' joke to keep cheeky ones happy! Definitely recommend.

We absolutely loved this book. We were already a fan of 'The Day The Crayons Quit' so we have been waiting to read the sequel. The book is very funny and fantastically illustrated. It is told from the perspective of a little boy Duncan's crayons. They have all been on some sort of adventure and are now trying to return home. We found each crayon's adventure hilarious and couldn't help creating our own voices for each colour crayon. From a crayon who decides to change his name to one who is being 'held together' by a paper clip the fantastical adventures will make everyone smile. We cannot recommend this book enough just make sure you read 'The Day The Crayons Quit' first.

A fantastic sequel. This story is just as good as the first. My son really enjoyed this and giggled all the way through it. We both really hope there will be a 3rd book in this series.

We were thrilled to win a copy of this book - we haven't yet read 'The Day The Crayons Quit' but it's now firmly at the top of Noahs Christmas list!
We thoroughly enjoyed this book, from the humerous postcards to the charming illustrations. Noah particularly found the poor crayon that had been made to draw poo hilarious!
A fab book that will appeal to children and adults alike.

What a great and funny read! We hadn't read the first (but definitely will now) so didn't know what to expect but we wasn't disappointed. This book is a collection of qwerky postcodes from Duncan's lost, forgotten or mis-treated crayons wanting to come home. The conclusion of this book is heart warming and would recommend reading this to every child

we love the first one in this series and the girls couldn't wait to get this out of the library - a funny entertaining book that will keep grown ups entertained too, the story of a boy's crayons and what happens when they leave home and seek independence!

This book is so much fun! I think I enjoyed it more than my grandson! The characters are great and the humour was easily understandable by a three year old...who now wants cuddly versions of the characters to cuddle with his new bedtime story! Read it! I don't want to add any detail as I don't want to spoil it for any new readers! Loved this book!

We were huge fans of the first, The Day the Crayons Quit so were very excited to get stuck into the second book....and we were not left disappointed.  Full of funny little stories and tales of curious crayons.  This book got my daughter giggling throughout and is an excellent extension from the first book.  It's such a quirky idea and works brilliantly.  Fun illustrations and great narrative.  We hope the pair come up with even more of the crayons adventures.

We loved sharing this sequel to 'The Day the Crayons Quit'. The story has lots of similarities with the original; the 'letter' style, the amazing illustrations by Oliver Jeffers and the 'grumpy' style of humour. We loved meeting the 'new' crayons,  especially Esteban the Magnificent and finding out about where they had been. It made us laugh so much! Most of all, we enjoyed how Duncan solved the problem of all of the stray crayons. It made us think about how we could take care of our things a bit more carefully too.

We love this book and regularly read it to both our 5 year old and our 2 year old.  We really liked the first book so we were really pleased the second one was just as good, if not better. The kids really like the house at the end that he made for all the crayons, who look very happy. We also like to make the 'glow in the dark' page glow at night.  The characters of each crayon are really funny, in particular we like Esteban, who is our favourite.  We would recommend this book for 2-6 year olds.

Such a great book!  Who hasn't owned (and lost) crayons as a child?  But who has ever received postcards from them? How amazing would that be, especially if they were illustrated by talented artist Oliver Jeffers?  As a grown-up, I love the humour, but little ones will also have a good giggle.  And they will love the glow-in-the-dark pages and be eager to see the crayons safely home.

After borrowing the first book 'the day the crayons quit' from the library, we were delighted to receive this book to review. I love how the layout and style makes it really stand out, and my 2 and 4yr olds loved each of the crayons own little stories! 4* as I feel it's a bit long and lacks momentum. But overall, we all enjoyed it, and will definitely be reading it again one evening to check out the glow in the dark picture too!

I had been very keen to read this sequel to 'The Day the Crayons Quit' and I was quite disappointed.  The story follows the same premise and the crayons are trying to make their way home.  The story still works on 2 levels, what the children will understand from the story and how adults will find it humourous too but while we loved 'The Day the Crayons Quit' this didn't seem as good for us.
